FORMER Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Edwards has signed a two-year contract with League Two side Morecambe.
Edwards, who played nine times while on loan with the Shrimpers at the end of the season, was released by Rovers last week.
The 20-year-old also spent time on loan with Chesterfield and Rochdale and failed to make a senior appearance at Ewood Park.
Former Accrington Stanley loanee Jamie Devitt has also penned a two-year deal with Jim Bentley’s side.
Devitt ended the season on loan with the Shrimpers and was released by Paul Cook’s Chesterfield following their promotion to League One.
