Andy Lochhead: Claret Duff is just so deserving of his new deal

IT is that time of the year when the manager has difficult decisions to make.
With the team promoted to the Premier League, it was inevitable that changes would have to be made. And I must admit that the list of players leaving has not thrown up any surprises.
It's the harsh side of football, but the team has got to evolve.
It’s only right that Michael Duff should be rewarded with the offer of a new 12-month contract.
He has been a good stalwart of Burnley Football Club and a big part in the success this season. When it comes to defending his box he has been outstanding.
Whenever crosses came in it was always Michael Duff who got his head to them and cleared.
While he probably won't play as much in the Premier League, I think he's still got a lot to offer.
Junior Stanislas is another who I feel would be an asset to the squad next season. He has been in and out of the side this year but he does add something to it when he plays or comes off the bench, and with more games at a higher level he will be a better player.
He has been there before with West Ham, and we have to tap into his Premier League experience. The beauty for Junior is that, at that level he will get a lot more space and time on the ball.
We could just do with a new deal for Danny Ings now to put a stop to any transfer speculation.
I can't wait to see him showcase his talents in the Premier League, and hopefully it will be with us.
It was good to see him sign off the campaign with a goal at Reading - a nice one too - before he was all smiles on open top bus parade.
I don't care what Joey Barton says, it was a brilliant occasion for the town.
It is only right that promotion should be celebrated, regardless of how it was earned because, especially for a club like Burnley, it was one hell of an achievement.
