SEAN Dyche has told striker Sam Vokes to ‘keep going’ after hitting the magical 20-goal milestone, while the Burnley boss feels Ashley Barnes can grow from his first.

Barnes set the Clarets on their way to a 3-0 win over Charlton with a powerful header, with Vokes following up from the spot after earning the penalty early in the second half.

His landmark goal meant that, with Danny Ings on 25, Burnley have two 20-goal striker for the first time since Willie Irvine and Andy Lochhead in 1965/66.

“It’s a nice marker,” Dyche said, but he added: “I still feel there’s more to come from him and to be fair to him he;s grown within it.

“I’ve never understood numbers and limits. I told him to keep an open mind and he showed it again with a nice calm finish, and good play actually to get the penalty.”

Of the prospect of Barnes taking confidence from his first, Dyche said: “That’s down to him but his work ethic was tremendous again, some of his hold-up play was very good on a really tough surface, and in the right place at the right time.

“I’m delighted for Ash, he’s worked ever so hard again he’s developing into the group because he’s new to it and we have certain ways of working that he’s adapting to.

“To be honest I’m disappointed for him and for the team that he didn’t get a second.”

Barnes was denied a second header soon after breaking the deadlock on what Dyche described as “definitely the worst football pitch I’ve seen in many years”, adding: “I’ve played on some horrors in my time but I've never witnessed anything like that at this level.

“I thought overall they delivered a performance that it needed on that pitch,” Dyche added.

“Once we got a foothold in the game and started to adapt to the game and the circumstances, particularly the pitch, I thought we looked good value as the game built and we started playing some productive football, and obviously scored goals.”

And we will be £180 million richer you dunce, whereas Blackburn:

No money

Forced to sell your 'best' players

Still with 'Mr Mogodon' Bowyer in charge the bib and cone man, failing to inspire anyone

Struggling against relegation to Division Three.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha poor old Blackburn - heading into administration but still consumed with jealousy over their bigger and better neighbours.

O dear Keen, having a bad day are we? You come across as very bitter and jealous yet claim you are not.
Your fellow Rover is right, you need to stop living in the past, that is a major part of what is destroying your club. Too many plastic fans expecting the likes of Shearer to once again play for you. Simply not going to happen and now you have been overtaken by little old Burnley and it hurts you soooo much.

Imagine if you finish 35 points below us - just how ironic would that be?

It shows how much a true mess the chickken farmers have put us in, finishing below the little Burnla, it shows how far we have fallen, the standard is so low and doesnt bear thinking about, an unimaginable nightmare is upon us. You have to presume he's a youngster who doesn't realise that the Premiership is just a name change for the old division 1. We have won it and our name is already up their with "the greats".
.
"big clubs always rear their heads" - unfortunately Blackburn isn't, by any measure, a big club. Smaller than Leeds, Ipswich, Derby, Nottingham Forest, Brighton, to name just a few that will be in the championship next season (as well as the three teams coming down and Wolves coming up!).

Hang on just a second Cleatus, you had the small matter of a £100million boost from old Jack Walker back in the early 90's to help you on your way to the top flight, and to bring in the likes of Dalgish, Shearer, Sutton, etc. In today's money given the comedy money that has engulfed football that must equate to something like £500million... stupendous money. Of course you bought the title you blithering idiot.

We on the other hand have managed to play our way to the top, once in 2009, and potentially, PHENOMENALLY again in 2014. Playing our way up to the top table in English football not just once but twice without the financial backing that other, lesser clubs than Burnley, take for granted.

I won't be too harsh on you as I consider you to be a pre-pubescent ignoramus at best, however you may not be aware but we have a proud history. We have won the top division in English football twice, that's what they now call the Premier League. Our name is up there too.

The difference being that the last time you won the top division fair and square (without massive financial backing) was in 1914, whereas Burnley last won it fair and square in 1960.

You didn't excel at the top because you are right back where you started now that the money has run out. Below the Clarets looking up in awe once again. You brought shame on the nation with your European exploits, whereas we reached the Quarter final of the European Cup. Again, you might want to check that for yourself..

You now have Venky's running your circus of a club and as such I can categorically state that you will never be back. To describe Venky's as a minor hiccup is quite an understatement is it not? You are in fact beginning the long slow slide into lower league football, and it couldn't happen to a nicer club.

Chin up.

Keen o Kean what a dim wit you are, to blame the chicken farmers for your club reverting to type after a brief 5mins of fame.
Jack and then the Walker trust were having to chip in 3million a season to keep your club afloat. 2006 the trust said enough is enough we ain't doing it anymore. Your debts started then, 20million by the time Venkys got involved, and no one at the club tried to reduce those debts.
Your name sake was charged with reducing the bill by 10million, you sour chimps protested and got your saviour sacked.
It is you chimps not turning out on a saturday, not putting your money where you big arrogant mouths are, that loss in revenue is killing your beloved club.
The poor chicken farmers were sold a lemon, but credit where credits due their trying to make lemonade, but there's too many bitter chimps to make it happen.
And as for relegated by Xmas, wasn't that said about us this season, who knows but I for one will enjoy the ride where ever it takes us

At least we will get the chance to be relegated from the prem, which is a good deal mote than you lot will any time soon.

Burnley going down by xmas and without a manger, yo yo team with a broken string , one direction Pal

Yes we have, twice. It was called the first division at the time but was still the top flight and we were champions of England. Get your facts straight. Football did NOT start with the premier League.

The term 'clutching at straws' comes to mind here.... please stop embarrassing your fellow Rovers fans and please stop living in the past. Admit you would give your left b0ll0ck to be in Burnley's position right now because I would.
Thanks Ewood. Another decent Rover post.

You have to presume he's a youngster who doesn't realise that the Premiership is just a name change for the old division 1. We have won it and our name is already up their with "the greats".
.
"big clubs always rear their heads" - unfortunately Blackburn isn't, by any measure, a big club. Smaller than Leeds, Ipswich, Derby, Nottingham Forest, Brighton, to name just a few that will be in the championship next season (as well as the three teams coming down and Wolves coming up!).

and Rhodes is off to WBA in the Summer - WBA!!!
Yep WBA eh. A proper move upwards.

You are really one of those that believed you were a rival to Man U. Believe me they don't see it the same way.
You also completely forget what your history is and where you were prior to Walker buying success.
You are in for a reality check and will possibly at some stage begin to understand you are now playing at the right level for a club your size and with the level of support you have.
You are sadly deluded if you think otherwise, enjoy your memories, I still enjoy the moment we scored at York to clinch the 4th Division title, that will be league 2 to you.

Whew! Spew out all that anger boy! Those Venkys really have you down. Most billionaire FOREIGN owners bought PL football clubs as an ego trip. They had no issue pumping that big money in so long as they could buy a title. Venkys bought in to MAKE money. They wanted a slice of that easy television cash. They won't stick around much longer at the rate they're bleeding money. Don't hold your breath for a PL return any time soon. And that title Uncle Jack bought? It's almost 20 years old. Still with 'Mr Mogodon' Bowyer in charge the bib and cone man, failing to inspire anyone

Struggling against relegation to Division Three.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha poor old Blackburn - heading into administration but still consumed with jealousy over their bigger and better neighbours.
jealous of a club who have never and will never ever win the Prem Title , ? Even if we do go down to Stanleys league in the footballing world we will always have our name up there with the greats. Etched in PL Silverware and no one has heard of Burnla and never will Pal - get real scruffy boy
will some one tell these burnley numbskulls
Blackburn rovers have BILLIONAIRE OWNERS
SO £180 million that you think you will get is small change to venky's
Blackburn are not Struggling against relegation to Division Three stupid
Blackburn will not be heading into administration
and as for your claim that you are a bigger and better club
the last time burnley won the league was over fifty two years ago
but it get's better the last time burnley won theF A cup was over hundred years ago if you want to change the history of burnley football club
then get promoted to the premier league and go and win the premier league
but most football fans know that is some thing burnley fans of today
will never ever see in their lifetime no matter how well there club is run
but we did
Roughly translated as:

Waaaaaaah

Waaaaaaah

Waaaaaaah

Good to see Blackburn tramps like you defending those heroes Venkys, what you and most of your inbred foolish colleagues fail to grasp is the following:

Financial
Fair
Play

So it doesn't matter if Venkys own half the world, unless your attendances increase to around 60000 a week you are going to be hit with a transfer embargo until you sell your highest paid and best players.
