6 pts and 12 games is hardly too little too late. Good result ground out a victory to end a three match losing streak and an away win too.

well done lads.

Of course it's too late to make the play-offs, Wigan are far too good for any other team in the play-offs anyway. It's about preparing for next season and 4-2 wins away from home are good preparation.

I'm still willing to give GB more of a chance, he's still new to the job of management and there's lot of room for improvement in both manager and team. Looks like he played 4-3-3 today which could be the way forward when he has a full squad of fit players.

There's been a lot of criticism about his signings, I think the likes of Evans, Cairney and Marshall have been good signings, but the last 2 a Leeds reserve and a Millwall reserve don't exactly scream Premiership he we come. Even worse that he played them in one of the season's most important matches.

Obviously we have to keep going, but players should now be playing for their place in a stronger squad next year. At last we have bit of stability, I can't see where this wonderful other manager will come from and is it worth yet another new risky start?

So by your logic, our future is best served by us losing every game?Presumably you believe that this will force the Venky regime out and leave the club in administration or liquidation.
Could you please explain how this benefits the club, the supporters and the town? No attempt at wit, no sarcasm, just an explanation please.

I make a simple point that appears to go over your head. Two or three more results like the last three disasters and the owners would have had to take action or watch the gates go even lower. As it is they can soldier on with what they've got, both in management and playing staff. There now. That is an explanation, is it not? Unlike you, I do not do wit or sarcasm. The subject is too serious for that.

Quite frankly the chances of relegation are distinctly more likely than promotion with the present owners. They probably have enough points to survive this season. But correspondents on here give me the distinct impression that next season is another matter. As I said in my first post, occasional results like this does nothing for the future. It needs addressing now but I think most of us know it won't be, especially after results such as today. And the gates will continue to drop. That's not a hope. Its a stne wall certainty l Now I'm going for a pint.

Oh. Before I go. The manager needs to be changed now, not the players. You leave that to the new manager at the end of the season when he's weighed the job up. Simple really.

I certainly don't begrudge you your pint but whilst you are sipping it over the next four hours I respectfully request that you reflect on the following points:
1) if you are so intent on the owners leaving, why would you expect them to appoint a new manger?
2) if the owners are as bad as you believe they are, what new manager would work for them?
3) if the owners stay, as they will, and they appoint a new manager, as you wish, how, under FFP, will we attract new players and offload the ones who are contracted to us?
4) if you are calling for a new manager to manage and trim the existing squad, please name your short list, bearing in mind, point one.
5) if, as I suspect, you have no answers to the above, and you are just a bitter and disillusioned ex supporter who has no interest or commitment in moving this club forward........just admit that your remaining joy in life, alongside your occasional pint, is revelling in the despair and dampening the optimism ism of us real supporters.

It is very easy to sit in the comfort of your armchair and criticise the club from top to bottom but I really fail to understand why you hold loyal fans in such contempt.
I am glad you enjoyed your holiday. The true supporters valued your absence.
