BLACKBURN Rovers boss Gary Bowyer is hopeful captain Grant Hanley will be fit to play in tomorrow's derby at Bolton Wanderers.

Although the calf ‘niggle’ Hanley has sustained is not serious there remains a question mark over whether he will take to the field at the Reebok Stadium.

If the Scotland international misses out that will leave Bowyer, who is also sweating on the fitness of star midfielder Tom Cairney, down to just one available centre-back in Matt Kilgallon.

Centre-midfielder Jason Lowe and left-back Tommy Spurr could fill in.

But Bowyer has admitted he would like to bring in another central defender in on loan to act as cover for Hanley and Kilgallon, who have helped Rovers keep three successive clean sheets.

Any new loan signing would have to registered before noon tomorrow in order to be included in Bowyer’s squad for the Bolton clash.
