Lancashire Telegraph: Chorley boss Garry Flitcroft Chorley boss Garry Flitcroft

Chorley opened up a five point lead at the top of the Evo-Stik League Premier Division with a hard fought 2-0 home win over Frickley Athletic.

James Dean broke the deadlock 16 minutes from time and Dale Whitham added a second in stoppage time.

Garry Flitcroft's side have lost just once on their own turf this season but were made to work hard for the three points by the struggling visitors.

The Magpies host play-off chasing FC United of Manchester on Saturday with a big crowd expected at Victory Park.

Thanks to their FA Trophy run Chorley still have a game in hand over second-placed Skelmersdale United.
