Stephen Lowe: Reds are hard to beat now

Lancashire Telegraph: James Beattie James Beattie

IT feels like it’s been raining for months and with the terrible pictures on the news of an underwater southern Britain I was fearful that Saturday’s trip to Wycombe would be called off.

The game did go ahead and Stanley battled well to earn a point against the relegation strugglers.

James Beattie was very proud of his charges in his post-match interview, mainly with their restraint in the face of extreme provocation.

Stanley are proving hard to beat in more ways than one.

With only four defeats in the league in our last 20 matches and an unbeaten four-match run, we are slowly building our points tally to the magic 50.

The team under JB has become a tight unit of players who will go the extra mile for each other.

The mixture of youth and experience combined with the loan of quality players like Marcus Bettinelli and Lee Molyneux bodes well for the rest of the season.

Our next two fixtures are at home, a romantic Valentine’s Friday night clash with promotion-chasing Scunthorpe followed by a Lancashire derby against Bury on Tuesday night.

If I dare to dream then it’s six points in the bag and a big jump up the table for the Reds.
