Burnley FC set to make another addition to the boardroom

BURNLEY have confirmed that the board of directors is to expand further, with Burnley-born Terry Crabb to be added to the boardroom.

Crabb, who has been a lifelong fan since watching his first game at Turf Moor in the mid-1950s, became an associate director last June and, like fellow new director Brian Nelson, helped to facilitate the ground buy-back.

The 65-year-old, who becomes the sixth member of the new-look board, owned Dorset Cereals until 2008.

He said: “This is a wonderful opportunity.

“You never think that this kind of thing is going to happen, but how can you refuse?

“When the opportunity arose, I felt I had to get involved and one of the most important things for me joining the board is that this is a proper club.

“All the directors are local and lifelong supporters, which I just think is fantastic. The way this club is run is within its means and that matters a great deal to me and something I dearly wish to be a part of and contribute to.”

Crabb, who is married with two grown-up children, will take up his new role as soon as his appointment has been ratified by the Football League.

Burnley co-chairman John Banaszkiewicz said: "We are delighted to welcome Terry to the board.

“He is the ideal combination for the club; a lifelong Burnley fan and a businessman who can bring some creative ideas to our work.

“While our on-pitch form this season has been fantastic, we have been working just as hard off the pitch, strengthening the board and setting up an advisory group to gather new ideas and suggestions to help the club move forward.

“Burnley today is a club run by real fans. We are ambitious and forward thinking and the addition of Terry’s skill-set will help us deliver on our plans as we expand the club and the brand.”

More good news for the club, another sensible addition behind the scenes.

But no additions to a dwindling squad, how long before Dyche looses patience and moves on?

A dwindling squad that lies 3rd in the Championship after 6 months of the season. Do we need to waste money like a certain club currently struggling in 9th place trying desperately to get some of the deadwood off their books? Not really.

Oh dear, another jealous no-dad who hates the fact that his club are owned by clueless Indian chicken farmers.

As much as it makes you cry inside the fact is Burnley FC are a well-respected, well-run, proper football club. Something your shower will never be.

Look up you moron.

Poor old Blackburn mugs, jealous of their bigger and much better rivals from down the M65.

Not only is our team massively outperforming yours on EVERY SINGLE LEVEL, we also have something that you can only wish you had in the boardroom, I mean what wouldn't you give for local board members that support the team, that only have the best interests of the club at heart?

Instead you have the asset-stripping, comedy geniuses that are the Venkys.

Poor old Blackburn

Long Live the Venkys

Ok running out of steam, Charlie rated most of your midfield pretty low on Tues (see our discussion on the thread).

That and recent results suggest that your key players are tiring, or suffering from little knocks, you need some fresh legs to liven things up a tad.

I am not sure but you do appear to have signed more Board Members than players since the start of the season, won't be long before board members outnumber the squad.

Sorry Nick but I have to disagree.

ONE game where our wide players were snuffed out (It was a deliberate policy by Brighton to nullify them) does not mean we have run out of steam or are carrying knocks.

As I mentioned in the thread we have plenty of players available to replace the wide men (Stanislas, Wallace, Treacy and Barnes) all can come in and do a job, and Arfield can be used as a central midfielder if necessary, so it is an area where we have more than enough cover.

I bow to your better knowledge of your own players Charlie.

From what I can tell you have only used 18 players (who started at least one game) this season of these 5 have played 27 games and one each for 26, 23, 22, 21, 19 and 17.

I have only checked League games.

Thats a pretty solid core group of players, albeit only two players have scored around 80% of your goals.

RIP John Bond? Are you attempting to use this as an insult? A guy who managed the club for a season, 30 years ago?

Your banter is as poor and as embarrassing as the pathetic team you support.

The thing that really grinds your gears is that you know we ARE better than you, and take away your cheap as chips tickets we ARE bigger than you.

So my advice to you is swallow your pride and admit your jealously of our bigger, better, well run team supported by our LOCAL board of directors that isccurrently in a battle for promotion, while you stumble around in mid table.
