Paul Wheelock's ratings:
Paul Robinson 7: Could do nothing to prevent Barnsley’s goals and made two excellent saves either side of half time.
Adam Henley 6: Caused the Tykes plenty of problems with his rapid breaks from right back in the first half.
Grant Hanley 7: Stand-in skipper was furious at the decision to award Barnsley the penalty from which they equalised.
Matt Kilgallon 7: The recalled centre back, along with the rest of the Rovers defence, came under serious second-half pressure.
Tommy Spurr 6: Like Henley, got in behind the Tykes back line before the break before being put on the back foot after it.
Lee Williamson 6: Became the second Rovers player in successive matches to be stretchered off after Ben Marshall.
Jason Lowe 6: Was guilty of some misplaced passes in both halves. The only Rovers player to be booked.
Tom Cairney 8: Brought Rovers back into the match with a sublime equaliser that will live long in the memory.
David Dunn 8: It was his brilliant run and perfect pass that led to Rudy Gestede putting Rovers in front.
Rudy Gestede 7: Missed a good headed opportunity before making amends with a cool side-footed finish.
Jordan Rhodes 6: Forced the excellent Luke Steele into a first-half save before firing into the side-netting after the break.
