BLACKBURN Rovers captain Scott Dann will be fit for this Saturday’s clash with Derby County after scans showed his arm injury is not as bad as first feared.

The centre-back was worried he had broken a bone following an off-the-ball challenge by Nottingham Forest’s Darius Henderson on Saturday.

But an X-ray has revealed that Dann has not done any serious damage and he trained yesterday ahead of the visit of high-flying Derby to Ewood Park.

Rovers assistant manager Terry McPhillips said: “Scott’s fine, so that’s good.

“He had an old injury, which was a bit of a concern, but he’s trained properly and he never had anything on it.”

McPhillips took training yesterday while boss Gary Bowyer is in India holding talks with Rovers owners Venky’s over his plans for the final 10 days of the transfer window.

McPhillips said: “The lads were good as gold, the session was of a really high standard and everyone enjoyed it.

“Now we’re all looking forward to the game against Derby and trying to get back on track.”

Goalkeeper Paul Robinson missed the 4-1 defeat at Forest with a hamstring strain and faces a race to be fit for the Rams encounter.

The match will come too soon for Corry Evans.

But the midfielder, who has been out for three months with ankle-ligament damage, could return to full training with the rest of the Rovers squad tomorrow.

Right-back Todd Kane, out since early last month with a thigh injury, has resumed full training and is in contention for the Derby game.
