QPR manager Harry Redknapp has ruled out a move for Jordan Rhodes after claiming Blackburn Rovers will not lower their asking price for their ‘amazing’ top scorer.

Redknapp, who is the market for a new striker, said: “He’s too expensive.

“He’s a good player but I don’t think they’ll lower the price.

“They want their money back – they want their £8m or £9m for him.

“Every week he scores. He’s amazing.”

Rhodes has scored an incredible 44 goals in 76 appearances for Rovers since his £8m move from Huddersfield Town in August 2012.

Gary Bowyer has continually stressed that the Scotland international striker, 23, is not for a sale while admitting that every player has a price.

That price for Rhodes, however, is not the ‘£8m or £9m’ quoted by Redknapp.

Bowyer told the Lancashire Telegraph earlier this month: “Jordan Rhodes isn’t for sale.

“I was never very good at maths but we paid £8m for him, then he goes and scores the most goals in the calendar year – more than Luis Suarez – and yet he is still valued at £8m.

“That doesn’t quite add up to me.

“But then again I’m no Carol Vorderman!”
