SOME of the best teams in the country have gone to Manchester City this season and had three, four and five goals put past them.

So every Blackburn Rovers fan will know exactly what their side are up against at the Etihad Stadium in tonight’s FA Cup replay.

A lot for me depends on what team Manchester City select. If they put our their best 11 then it’s going to be very, very tough.

But if they go with the same format that they did at Ewood Park then Blackburn could yet spring a little surprise.

That would be fantastic but in many ways the result does not matter.

Even if Blackburn go there and still get beat 3-0 or 4-0 then it will not matter as long as they put in a great performance and give it everything they have got.

If they do that and Manchester City are still so much better than them, then you don’t mind that.

And they should go there with confidence as they have already done fantastically well against City at Ewood.

Blackburn do seem to do better against the sides who have a right good go at them. And I’m sure that’s what City will attempt to do tonight.

It’s not just one or two goals they are winning by. They’ve really upped the ante this season and they are now taking it up to four or five.

If I was Gary Bowyer I would be tempted to throw another five players on and try and get away with it!

But in all seriousness they have already surprised City and I hope they can do it again tonight.

Blackburn will go into the game on the back of a win against Doncaster.

It wasn’t the greatest performance but a win is a win and the three points was all that mattered on Saturday.

Doncaster, despite their position, are a pretty decent side.

I’ve seen the way Paul Dickov works with his players. He makes sure they are aggressive, get in your face and try to stop you from playing.

They certainly did that in the second half.

In the first half we needed a goal to open the game up a little bit and we got that right on half-time.

We were hoping Rovers would kick on in the second half.

Unfortunately it did not happen and maybe that owed as much to Doncaster pushing Rovers back as Rovers deciding to sit back and defend what they had.

Fortunately for the home side, Doncaster didn’t have that killer instinct.

And it’s killer instinct which Rovers are going to need tonight at Manchester City as I can’t see them having too many chances.
