ADAM Henley has urged his ‘buzzing’ Blackburn Rovers team-mates to reproduce their FA Cup heroics in the Championship.

The young right-back was part of the Rovers side which produced a magnificent display to hold Manchester City to a 1-1 draw last weekend.

Having proved the equals of one of Europe’s best teams Henley says confidence is soaring among Gary Bowyer’s squad ahead of their return to league action this weekend.

Now the 19-year-old wants to take that confidence into Saturday’s visit of out-of-form Doncaster to Ewood Park.

Henley said: “It was a fantastic performance from the lads and it just shows what we are starting to put together now.

“Hopefully if we can take a performance like that into the league games we can produce something special.

“Everyone is buzzing.

“The team has really come together over the last few months, we’ve got a good squad and a good group of lads who are willing to put themselves on the line. It’s going to be interesting times.”

The clash with third-bottom Doncaster, who have lost six and drawn two of their last eight matches in all competitions, is likely to be Henley’s first league appearance of 2014.

The Wales Under-21s international was rested for the New Year’s Day win at Leeds United – a win which moved Rovers within two points of the play-offs – as a precaution.

Going into the game Henley had played five matches in the space of three weeks after nine months out with serious hamstring problems.

Henley said: “With the back-to-back hamstring injuries that I had last year I think it is important that I don’t reproduce that really.

“I’ve got to be careful and the manager is looking after me and knew I needed a rest. It was just precautionary, the last games I’ve played I’ve felt good and hopefully I can put that behind me now.”

Henley has made the right-back role his own since making an outstanding comeback in the 0-0 draw at QPR last month.

But with Todd Kane set to return from a thigh injury in 10 days time, and winger Ben Marshall proving a highly capable deputy at Leeds, Henley refuses to accept he has the position nailed down.

He said: “I’m just enjoying playing every game as it comes.

“If I can nail it down then good, but it is just on to Doncaster next and see how that goes.”

Midfielder Alan Judge, meanwhile, was believed to be travelling down to London yesterday to complete his loan move to League One leaders Brentford.
