Blackburn Rovers to host Bristol City or Watford in FA Cup - if they win Manchester City replay

BLACKBURN Rovers will host League One Bristol City or Championship rivals Watford in the FA Cup fourth round – if they become only the second side this season, after Champions League holders Bayern Munich, to triumph at Manchester City.

Rovers will need to win their third-round replay at City’s Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, January 15 (7.45pm) if they are to progress to the last 32.

The initial tie between the teams at Ewood Park yesterday ended 1-1.

Fourth-round matches will take place over the weekend of January 25-26.

Nothing is impossible in this game but to imagine that we will be in the next round of the cup may just be stretching things a little too far maybe. But the way we have have played in the last couple of games this team will have as much chance as any Rovers previous team will have had

I will be disappointed if we go out in the replay but not too disappointed against one of the best and richest clubs in Europe. I just hope we can put in a good performance again as the confidence the team can gain from these games is immeasurable. It was the ingredient that was missing in the first half of the season. I am confident that with this team playing at their best we can match anyone in the Championship.

I have every confidence we wil get to the play offs in the second half of this season, I just hope the Dingles can hang on to a play off spot as well, it would be a great play off final at Wembly!!! How did they do by the way????????

We have a much more important game against Doncaster on Saturday to worry about first, win that then worry about City, anything there would simply be the icing on the cake, but we can dream! lol

Then Forest away, then Derby at home......

Let the dreaming begin!!

Just the potential for injuries, suspensions and a severe whupping from a side who showed you lot what an away following is yesterday.

A draw against City reserves and Blackbuuuurrrn are suddenly Barcalona!!!!

The couple of hundred that bother going to the Etihad will be communally reminiscing about how they regularly used to rub shoulders with the big boys till the tax avoiders money ran out!!!!

Meanwhile City will be easing into the 4th round and you'll continue craning your necks to see East Lancs number one team !!!

If we play half as good against the Dingles, it's going to be a thrashing, I predict 4-0 to the mighty blues and same again when we play them in the play offs.
BG and WLUV will never be seen again on our pages after the end of this season which is something we are ALL looking forward to!!!!!!!!!

Would be a massive surprise if we didnt get beat at the Etihad in the replay against one of Europes top and most expensive teams - you can probably get around 25/1 for a Rovers win - but then again you could have got 20/1 on the Rovers winning at the Emirates in the cup last season! Wish I had put a tenner or more on that win!

And no I dont feel sorry for their fans if they are like the losers that come on here!

Seeing the portly Robbo emerge from the tunnel was a surprise, he looked like he'd been on a calorie uncontrolled diet. Although I think GB was right to play Robbo in this important game because of his big match experience, I don't think he's the long term answer to our goalkeeper concerns. The two young lads look like they will make very good keepers, but they are both still too prone to making stupid mistakes. Not sure what the answer is.

I take it you were one of the 9,000 that invaded Southampton and knocked everyone in out with one punch whilst swigging 400 cans of Stella?

I take it you were one of the 9,000 that invaded Southampton and knocked everyone in out with one punch whilst swigging 400 cans of Stella?

A draw against a City 1st/2nd team that would finish in the top 6 of the Prem is pretty **** good for a team mainly of young lads and a 20 stone keeper

We think we're Barcelona? No, no, no, you're getting all confused again odd ball, it's you dirty dungaree wearing hippos that get completely carried away with yourselves, so much so you lot thought you'd won the league in September! Ha ha ha ha ha - only on planet dingle

We did rub shoulders with the big boys - and came out on top! Which explains why you lot are why you are - bitter, myth believing, Rovers obsessed bull sh1tters

The money ran out and yet we still had another decade in the top flight, including a real trophy (not like the ones you award yourselves made from tin-foil and an old baked beans tin) and another few derby wins thrown in for good measure - more salt in your gaping wounds you Sierra driving undershot sweating machine...
Maybe you wouldn't get banned so often if you weren't so angry!

Maybe you need to be neutered to control all that aggression?

Maybe your close female family members might be a tad safer too.

Aww well done unclejacksdead, idiot Blackburn fan in living in the past shocker.

Instead of getting warm and fuzzy about when you USED to dine at the top table, why don't you actually focus on the here and now and what a shambles your club is now?

As for the play off talk, correct me if I am wrong but were a good many of you not calling for Bowyer's head after your Xmas fixtures just over a week ago? You scab a win against a Leeds side that just lost at Rochdale, have 30 percent possession at home to City and apparently you are now play off contenders?

Deluded and fickle.

The great thing about that is, if we took away the trophies we won whilst the great uncle jack was around, we'd still be more successful than you. Go and troll the Preston pages, they're more on your level. You're an embarrassment.

Actually, no. The calls for GB's head all came from bogus troll accounts and Dingle accounts like yours. None from true Rovers who actually attend matches
Deluded?? We are two points away from the play off slots with over 20 games to play. You're the deluded one if you think we cant make it. Our team is really settling down, we have just signed Cairney and Gestede, players that you said would be off at the end of the loan periods.
Oh and Rhodes isnt being sold either, we aint in admin.

Bitter twisted Dingle, you said we would fail and hey, here we are still
13 points behind you , yeah but when you finish 3rd and we make 6th that wont matter will it!

The difference in how he organised the defence made up for the extra weight! lol.

And he can only get fitter, it certainly won't have done him any harm.

In the first half when he was defending the Blackburn end goal you could hear him bellowing out instructions, and the team was listening, they were the most solid I have seen them at the back than I have seen them for years, this against a top class team with a top class attack.
