THE DAILY SPORTS DEBATE: Who will win the Championship?

Lancashire Telegraph: THE DAILY SPORTS DEBATE: Who will win the Championship? THE DAILY SPORTS DEBATE: Who will win the Championship?

WITH a full programme of Championship fixtures taking place tonight and Burnley now off the top of the pile, just who are the favourites for the league this season?

The Clarets have certainly enjoyed a flying start to the campaign and are very much in the mix for a top two slot and Blackburn Rovers are within touching distance of the play-offs following their 1-0 win over Leeds United on Saturday so there will be optimism at Ewood Park.

Leicester, under Nigel Pearson, currently lead the way while Nottingham Forest and Reading are well fancied but who do you think are favourites for promotion?

QPR, not because they are necessarily the best team but Harry likes to wheel and deal. If he calls around his contacts in January he's probably going to be able to pick up some Premiership quality fringe players, especially around the London clubs, and maintain momentum. The second half of the season is a hard grind, especially if you throw in a few cup games, the strongest squad will prevail.

McClaren seems to have turned Derby's season round and they might be in the top two. I do think QPR will be up there as well. I would obviously like to see Rovers in the play-offs, Burnleh for mid-table at best.

Wouldn't mind being the owner of a coach company!
Said at start of season QPR, Wigan. Leicester, Forest would all be top 6 and I expect 2 of those 4 to get automatic. Agreed re comments on Derby and QPR posted above.
Always a surprise team in play offs such as a Blackpool or Burnley. expect Reading to also be up there and possibly Watford along with Leeds. Tough division this year and clubs with serious backers.

QPR will win the Championship, with Leicester coming a close second. Blackburn will finish one or two places above the relegation places, but our manager will not notice this unless one of his staff leaves a copy of the league table on his desk. Its priceless really...the club lurches from one imbecile to another. The one constant factor being the clowns that own the club. The inevitable outcome will be insolvency having to start again from the lower divisions.....
