This live event has finished
- BLACKBURN Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has made two enforced changes for this afternoon’s Championship clash with struggling Charlton Athletic at Ewood Park.
- Fit-again captain Scott Dann replaces the suspended Grant Hanley while Ben Marshall comes in for the injured Corry Evans.
- Dann, who missed the 2-1 defeat at Wigan Athletic last time out, will partner Matt Kilgallon in the centre of the Rovers defence.
- Marshall, for whom it is his first start for five games, is expected to play on the right-side of midfield with Tom Cairney moving into the centre.
- Fourth-from-bottom Charlton, who are without a league win in six matches, also make two changes to the side which drew 0-0 with Blackpool before the international break.
- Bradley Pritchard and Cameron Stewart – who had a loan spell with Rovers last season – are in for Mark Gower and Callum Harriott.
- Addicks boss Chris Powell has named fit-again key duo, captain Johnnie Jackson and talismanic striker Yann Kermorgant, on the bench.
- Rovers go into the game in ninth, six points behind the play-off places and aiming to make it four home wins in five.
FULL-TIME Rovers 0 Charlton 1. A smattering of boos accompany the final whistle. Rovers poor. For Charlton it is their first away win of the season - and ends their six-game winless run.
Short report to follow.
Six minutes of injury-time.
Final roll of the dice for Rovers as DJ Campbell comes on for his appearance of the season after injury. He replaces Ben Marshall. 84 mins. 0-1.
Final sub for Charlton as Johnnie Jackson replaces their goalscorer Simon Church. 82 mins. 0-1.
SUB for Rovers, Alan Judge on for Josh King. 77 mins. 0-1.
Sub for Charlton, Cedric Evina on for Cameron Stewart. 75 mins. 0-1.
As a result of that Rovers sub, Tom Cairney has moved out to the right, to be replaced in the middle by Lee Williamson, with Ben Marshall playing behind Jordan Rhodes. 72 mins. 0-1.
Outrageous effort from Addicks sub Yann Kermorgant a minute after coming on, his effort from just inside his own half sailing over the backtracking Jake Kean and going past the post. It's Rovers who are doing all the pushing, though. 69 mins. 0-1.
SUBS Lee Williamson comes on for Rovers, Leon Best the man to go off. For Charlton, fit-again star striker Yann Kermorgant is on for Marvin Sordell. 66 mins. 0-1.
Good chance for Charlton. Lawrie Wilson cross for Dale Stephens who, 12 yards out, heads straight into the hands of Jake Kean. 0-1. 63 mins.
So close Jason Lowe, who has been one of Rovers' better players today. Floated Tom Cairney free kick headed clear as far as Lowe, whose 20-yard volley takes the slightest of deflections before going inches past the post. 0-1. 61 mins.
Attendance is 13,915.
First booking of the game goes to Rovers captain Scott Dann for a tackle from behind on Marvin Sordell. Home fans not happy as moments earlier Ben Marshall had seemingly been dragged down when advanncing toward the Addicks box. 51 mins. 0-1.
Decent chance in the first minute of the second half, Leon Best flicking over inswinging Ben Marshall corner. 0-1. 47 mins.
Second half is under way. No changes for either side.
HALF-TIME Rovers 0 Charlton 1. Improved end to half but for most of it hosts have badly lacked inspiration. Visitors in front and comfortable.
Rovers won't want the first half to end. While certainly not firing on all cylinders, they are having their best spell of the match. 0-1. 44 mins.
Rovers' best move of the game. Patient build up and Leon Best plays a ball inside the full-back for the overlapping Todd Kane. Kane's cross is a good one but the ball is just taken off the head of Jordan Rhodes by Richard Wood.
Moments later a cross from the other side of the pitch - from Tommy Spurr - is punched by Ben Hamer into the path of Jason Lowe, who touches the ball to Best. On the turn, the striker blazed over. Should have done better. 0-1. 39 mins.
Josh King and Ben Marshall have swapped sides as Rovers continue to search for some inspiration. 36 mins. 0-1.
Rovers go close to an equaliser. Ben Marshall lays off a Tom Cairney pass fired in to him at pace and Jordan Rhodes' first-time volley is turned past the post by Ben Hamer. Good save. 30 mins. 0-1.
Rovers fans doing their best to lift their side - and they need it. Finding it very hard to string passes together and, at this moment in time, Charlton are comfortable. 0-1. 27 mins.
Charlton keeper Ben Hamer tested for the first time. Jordan Rhodes flicks on to Leon Best who plays the ball out wide to Josh King. Winger stooped cross finds Rhodes, whose tame header is easily saved. 0-1. 23 mins.
Rovers need to find some urgency. Tommy Spurr doing his best with a couple of crunching tackles and Tom Cairney trying to make things happen in midfield. But not good enough so far. 21 mins. 0-1.
Rovers yet to truly threaten a reponse. Goal has given Charlton confidence. They do not look like a side that has not won in six. 17 mins. 0-1.
Dale Stephens was the creator, lofting an excellent high pass that split the Rovers centre-backs in two. Simon Church still had a lot to do, though. The Wales striker controlled the ball beautifully on his chest before side-footing past Jake Kean. Fine finish.
GOAL 1-0 Charlton. Simon Church. 8 mins.
First chance goes the way of the visitors. Todd Kane made a hash of a clearance and Cameron Stewart's low cross found Simon Church, whose left-footed effort deflected wide. 6 mins. 0-0.
We are under way. Rovers kicking toward the Bryan Douglas Darwen End in the first half.
Kick-off fast approaching here Ewood Park, where Rovers will attempt to close the gap on the top six and continue their impressive home form.
