4:56pm Saturday 28th September 2013 in Football
A BRACE from Sam Vokes and a 10th goal of the season from Danny Ings helped Burnley secure their sixth win in seven games to remain second in the Championship table.
Ings broke the deadlock in the 37th minute, converting Kieran Trippier's cross after good work from Sam Vokes.
It was Ings' 10th goal of th season and means he has followed in Charlie Austin's footsteps last season by reaching double figures before the end of September.
The first half had previously produced few chances, with Vokes nodding wide from another Trippier centre.
Charlton were offering little and second goal arrived for Burnley in the 66th minute when Dean Marney's slide-rule pass played in Vokes and the forward cleverly dinked the ball over keeper Ben Hamer and into the net.
Simon Church headed wide for Charlton but the Clarets came close to making it 3-0 when Ings glanced Ben Mee's cross on to the crossbar.
A third goal did arrive four minutes from time, though, as Vokes thumped home a fine volley from substitute Junior Stanislas' corner.
