THE future of Accrington Stanley boss Leam Richardson has been thrown into doubt today amid reports he may quit the club.

Richardson, who was only appointed full-time boss at the Store First Stadium in November, is believed to be considering his position at the club despite guiding Stanley to League Two safety this season with reports that he is to link up with former Reds boss Paul Cook at Chesterfield The 33-year-old has two years remaining on his current contract with Stanley.

It is understood Richardson could link up again with former Stanley boss Cook who yesterday let four members of his backroom staff leave the club.

Assistant manager Tommy Wright, reserve team coach Mark Crossley, development coach John Dungworth and kit man Kurt McDermott all departed in what the Spireites described as a backroom reshuffle meaning there is a natural vacancy for Richardson to fill at the Proact Stadium.

Cook said of the departures: “On behalf of the club, I’d like to thank all the staff for their efforts and the support they gave me. I wish them all the best for the future.”

All three were already at Chesterfield prior to Cook’s arrival.
