Darren Wright wins Adventure angling match

ADVENTURE AS found the fish in feeding mode at Greenridge Farm last Sunday.

Top prize went to Darren Wright, who fished close in on corn and maggot and amassed 137lb 8oz of carp. Brian Swindle employed a similar tactic to the winner for his 133lb 8oz.

Rob Gallagher fished with meat down the track for his 127lb 12oz, while Scott Nelson made up the frame on 106lb exactly.

24 fished and all caught.

Kennet Ospreys went to Timsbury Manor on Sunday last, and Terry Bowles made it look easy, winning with 122lb of carp close in on meat. Steve Hunt’s tactic of feeding several swims gave him a second-placed 107lb 11oz, again on pole and meat. Pat Hollies took third place with 71lb 5oz of carp down the edge on meat and corn.

15 fished and caught.

Camrose AC were at Cheriton Farm for their latest match, and alternating twixt pole and method, Pete Morris won it with 36lb 1oz. Paul Bassinder fished the maggot feeder for his 22lb 12oz of carp, followed by Pete Rainsford with 18lb 5oz and Brian Orchard on 16lb 2oz.

11 fished and caught.

Staceys match group went to Soke Road last Sunday and with 146lb 8oz of carp on pole and corn, Andy Wicks took the honours. Steve Davis used pole and maggot for his 13lb 8oz of mixed. Matthew Butler caught four carp for 13lb 6oz, followed by Sam Skilton on 12lb 14oz.

13 fished and caught.

A week ago last Sunday, Ospreys went to Dandys Ford Fishery, where Simon Kiefer showed his class by winning with 81lb 6oz of carp on pole and meat. Terry Bowles pushed him all the way with a close in 20lb 15oz of carp on meat. Anthony Flint came third with a feeder caught 62lb 10oz, followed by Steve Shepherd’s 57lb 4oz.

24 fished and caught.

Adventure AS went to Bowsaw Lake last Sunday week and in-form Darren Wright won it with 50lb 8oz of carp in the margins on worm. Colin Shepherd fished waggler and maggot for an all chub bag scaling 31lb 4oz. Steve Telford came next with 26lb 12oz, followed by Scott Nelson’s 21lb 12oz.

20 fished and caught.

Camrose AC were at New Barlows Lake last week, and it was Rob Frost who sorted it with 43lb 7oz of carp on pole and mag. Bill Atkinson’s 18lb 5oz of mixed came second, followed by Brian Orchard’s 13lb 4oz and Pete Morris’ 11lb 6oz.

Nine fished and caught.

Basingstoke Railway Club’s latest match was at Frobury Farm, where Mel Leaman won it with 9lb of mixed. Trevor Matthews and Dave Edwards both caught three carp and both weighed 8lb, while Lynn Matthews and Paul Phillip both weighed 7lb.

The wind blew one of my fence panels out last week. I’m lucky because they are the slot-in type, but a simple operation was made difficult by the wind and, as ’er indoors was struggling to cope, I got a couple of neighbours to help her out.
