Former bosses Kendall and Lee hit out at Ewood freefall
5:33pm Thursday 21st March 2013 in Football By Tony Dewhurst, Features Writer
HAPPIER TIMES Howard Kendall during his time as manager of Blackburn
HOWARD Kendall, who managed Blackburn Rovers from 1979 until 1981, fears his old club is heading for disaster under controversial owners Venky’s.
Michael Appleton’s shock sacking stunned the football world following his dismissal after just 67 days in charge at Ewood Park.
“What’s happening at Blackburn is outrageous – it is one of the saddest chapters I’ve ever witnessed in football,” said Kendall.
“It is mind-boggling. How can you sack a manager three months into a job? There just doesn’t seem to be any logic in anything the owners do when it comes to making football decisions.
“It is heartbreaking to see the club fall so far, from an established Premier League club a few years ago to this calamity.”
Kendall, who steered Blackburn from the lower reaches of the Third Division to promotion, later guided Everton to the League Championship, the FA Cup and the European Cup Winners’ Cup.
“Managing Blackburn seems an impossible job right now, but somebody will take it,” he said.
“They’ve obviously not done their homework in the past when it has come to appointing managers, though, because it is crying out for an experienced man to stamp his authority on the club.
“I just hope they get the next appointment right, because for the fans it must feel to them like the heart of the club has been ripped out.”
Another ex-Ewood Park manager Gordon Lee said: “I just can’t believe what is going on at my old club – it is a most incredible mess and it pains me to see Blackburn in such a terrible state.
“The people who run the club don’t seem to have a clue what they are doing.
“The whole thing is complete madness and unacceptable.”
Lee, who also bossed Newcastle United, Everton and Preston, added: “You need a couple of years to turn a club around, but the last lad Appleton got a few weeks and that’s crazy.
“The owners can do what they want with their money – but somebody needs to bring some sense to the situation because Blackburn are in freefall.
“Maybe the owners are on an ego trip, but a proud football club like Blackburn is not a play thing.
“It is something to cherish, a club of great tradition and they don’t seem to respect that “It is a town with a hard core of genuine and knowledgeable supporters. I can understand their anger with what has happened at Ewood.
“To have any hope of achieving success you need stability at a football club, but Blackburn’s in total chaos and I worry they could go into bankruptcy if this continues.”
Lee was the first Blackburn manager since Bob Crompton, in 1938-39, to win a divisional title for the club when he led Rovers to the old Third Championship in 1975.
And he believes a number of Rovers’ previous players and managers will feel the same sense of disappointment in what is going on at Ewood Park as he now does.
He added: “I signed players like Ken Beamish and Tony Parkes. Tony went on to manage Blackburn as caretaker. He was my chief midfielder and a great bloke “I wonder what they think about this sad situation. Like me, they must be very sad indeed.”
Graeme Souness, who guided Rovers back to the Premier League a decade ago and saw them win the League Cup under his tenure in 2002, said: “I don’t want to talk about it – it is very sad to see. It upsets me too much.”

Why do we not want rid of Venkys now? It's going to come to an inevitable end sooner or later. why prolong it? They have no intention of taking the club forward , even if they were capable, they've had plenty of chance to do that.
Get rid of the B'stards now and start again. I think they'll be off next season anyway when they see the size of the 'crowds' on the ground. If they were shocked this season, they will be next.

It's easy to blame, blame, blame but it doesn't help unless it brings positive changes. If there's anyone to blame it is Kean and all that has followed has been mainly because of his total *&%,;*@£$***

John Williams is the only man could save Blackburn Rovers FC from those Indians Venkys .Venkys have ruined our club relegated in Championship about 10,000 fans are staying way . There is a crisis in Ewood Park now who would want to be a manager of Rovers after all the sackings thats three managers in 8 months.Relegation is looming now and Rovers cannot win games and Rovers might be heading in League one like Leeds.
Venkys should sell up and go back where they came from they are not intrested in football club and take all these clowns with you Shaw,Agnew,Shebby Hendry and Modan.

All the problems can be solved by appointing a decent manager.
Kean, Berg and Appelton were all surprise appointments. At first we were optimistic with Appelton, he talked a lot of sense, but the performances and results were diabolical. We would definitely have been relegated under Appelton, I don't think they had any choice but to sack him. I would like to hear how he thought he was getting the best out of Jordan Rhodes. He took over a good team at Blackpool and stopped them from scoring as well!
Team GB is our best chance of avoiding relegation, hopefully next time they will appoint a good experienced manager - Adkins would be my choice.
Without Venkys we have no chance of returning to the Premiership because we have no money. If by a slim chance Venkys learn from their mistakes then we have a chance of promotion at some time in the future.

I heard today on the radio that JB has been seriously ill recently but is now recovering.
If anbody out there is in touch with JB please pass on our best wishes and let him know he's not forgotten by the faithful down at Ewood Park.

just look at Wimbledon , yet they live on and are ENJOYING being a part of there own club , fc united born from nothing , we will exist wihout the venkys and are big enough to build again and start enjoying supporting the name of Blackburn . We will never do that under these owners who choose to ignore every plea from every temperary lost fan cuz mark my word ,they will come flooding back once they have gone .
More than 2 years have passed since the parasites took control , how much longer will we look on in frustration whilst they take the p!ss out of every fan ? the time has been long overdue and we really should play them at their on game , let them go bust . I hate venkys MORE than i hate burnley , wether we like it or not , the boycot exsists as we speak .

Let's not lose sight of what the real issue here and that is the ego struggle between Agnew, Shaw and Singh.
.
They all need to go now, open he door and throw them all out onto the street and then let them try and go through the courts for compensation. I think the Venkys have more than enough money to keep a court case going before these schiesters run out of money Only then has Rovers got any chance or rebuilding.

It was a surprise when they sacked BFS, but not a shock; new owners want their own man in. Nothing unusual there either. We even gave Kean a fair crack of the whip. We didn't know who the f@ck he was but hoped they had come up with a gem.
Obviously they hadn't.
It was only when everthing started to go wrong on the pitch, Kean keeping his job and, more importantly, Venkys' abject running of the club coming into the public domain (especially Anderson's involvement, the Williams/Finn/Goodma
n and Paul Hunt letters) that we turned against them. And boy do they deserve it.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but if anyone was "sick" of them as soon as they set foot in the place, then may I suggest their motives were not entirely, how should we say, football based?

Really?
In the first place neither Venkys nor Shaw nor Singh know what a decent manager is and, even if they did, have zero credibility to get one. Venkys ended any hope of that ever happening by driving out the people who knew how to go about appointing a manager and had the respect within the game for that manager to at least consider taking the job.
"...hopefully next time they will appoint a good experienced manager...."
No decent manager would ever work under Venkys, not knowing if it's Singh or Shaw they answer to. Not to mention the total lack of knowledge those two have about running a football club outside of Malaysia or Preston (and Shaw couldn't even do that). That wont improve if Rao, Rao and Desai stay on he other side of the World relying on feedback from those two big kids squabbling in the schoolyard.
I'm not a supporter of the time = success theory about managers; they all have a shelf life. Berg and Appleton may not have been the right men for the job (and who hired them BTW?), but the lord god almighty can't be expected to turn this or any other club around in two or three months.
Plus, what would constitute "turning it around"? Getting back into the PL? Do me a favour.
Our chances of returning to the PL with Venkys? Nil. Our chances of being in Div One next year with them? Very high. Div Two the year after? Quite possibly. Our chances of returning to the PL without them? Highly unlikely as there has been too much damage done. The club is worth dick at the minute and anyone stupid enough to shell out the three and six it would take to buy it would be lumbered with enormous debt and financial obligations (mainly ridiculous player contracts) with nothing or no-one of any value to offset it.
It's something of a Catch 22; we're f@cked (as a credible football club)with 'em and we're f@cked (financially) without 'em.
Still, here's hoping.

Wolves fans would have been upbeat when the Bhatti Brothers took over only to suffer what we are now and a whole lot more besides. Well, as it stands at the moment anyway.
But not all new owners have been Bhatti-esque in the way they have run the club they bought. You would have expected Venkys, who knew nothing about football, to have sought every last bit of advice from anyone and everyone at the club who knew anything about anything to do with football; they didn't and we're all paying the price for that. If they did take advice from Williams et al but still came up with the same hair brained business plan, then they are more stupid than I could ever have imagined.
Having seen what's gone on over the last two and a half years, we can have little doubt our fine old club is heading in one direction and one direction only. However, no-one would have predicted the speed at which that has happened. A fall from grace would have been no real surprise, but it should have been as a result of the natural laws of football and certainly in a more dignified manner.

Most on here wanted MA out anyway because of his dire football and tactics, in Robbie Savage's words be careful what you wish for in football!
Most wanted new owners slagging off the Walker Trust, most wanted Big Sam out because of the football we played, believe me most of you moaners are as much to blame as anybody else!

" The amount of money made out of BRFC (by agents) is ridiculous "
......from a former player.
First Jerome Anderson and Kean! Then messrs Agnew and Shaw...have manipulated the situation ( a club owned by people who have no knowledge of Football ) to screw as much money out of BRFC as possible.
Venkys surely cannot be so naive to let this carry on? The real problem are the people who are ultimately responsible for the running of the club Agnew and Shaw; Venkys need to get rid of them immediately.
Shebby Singh unfortunately is also responsible....but is Venkys ' own man ' ....so can't really see him going whilst Venys remain?
BRFC would be a realistic proposition for any investor just because of the potential involved in reaching the Premiership;but it all depends on how long Venkys carry on.
Personally as a third generation Rovers fan it is heartbreaking to see what is happening and frustrating not knowing how to change the situation. My own personal opinion is that boycotting home games by all BRFC fans would force Venkys into doing something.....how can you run a club with no supporters? ( mind you Burnley seem to manage ok! )
We live in hope.... even the Bhatti bros. eventually left Wolves.

If Venkys put that in it will be in the form of a loan - that's how benefactors do it; it would be liable to tax if they just gave them the cash (see Bolton).
The value of the club has plummeted and will continue to do so, whatever they do. enlighten us; where exactly is all this money they are "stripping" coming from?
Simple fact is, there isn't any and never has been.
