FORMER Burnley star Chris Eagles broke Blackburn Rovers' hearts last night with an injury-time strike to all-but end any lingering play-off hopes.
Leon Best made his long-awaited Blackburn Rovers debut last night but it was Bolton still dreaming of an instant Premier League return after a dramatic finale.
Best was introduced with 10 minutes remaining, having missed the whole season with a cruciate knee ligament injury, and will be in contention for Sunday's FA Cup quarter final at Millwall.
Grant Hanley hit the bar twice for Rovers in last night's defeat with Bolton as Appleton's men reacted reasonably well to Saturday's shambles.
There was little from either side going forward, until a frantic last 10 minutes, but Rovers looked solid throughout as they prepared for their FA Cup clash in determined style.
Both sides had chances to win the game in the last 10 minutes but the defeat leaves Rovers 11 points adrift of the play-off places.
