No Tabb deal for Rovers

BLACKBURN Rovers boss Michael Appleton has rated the chances of a new loan signing joining the squad ahead of Saturday's clash with Peterborough at 50-50, having been unable to secure a move for Reading midfielder Jay Tabb.

The Rovers boss is actively seeking new arrivals owing to a lengthy injury list but one man not joining is Tabb.

Appleton confirmed an approach had been made to the Royals for the 29-year-old to move to Ewood Park on loan but the former Coventry man is seeking a more permanent deal.

The Rovers chief is monitoring a number of targets as he bids to strengthen his squad before the loan window closes.

Hate to break it to Tabb but the only way he will get a permanet deal is if Royals give him a free transfer! Only loan window open Jay!

I take it then that MA is "amazed"! Welcome to the mad world of Venkys where an inward deal can take months but shipping someone out is a piece of cake

That would be yet another class aquisition for Appleton. BFS used to scour the french leagues and spanish leagues for top up and coming talent, this fella just takes any rejects he can find.

Earlier today I read Appy would be amazed if we didn't sign 2 players on loan before the Peterbrough match???

Time to be Amazed !!

Who is Tabb? I've never heard of him. Is anybody else baffled as to why we've just left Rochina, Vuckevic and co go and we are getting unheard ofs probably less able players instead? What was the point?

Tabb is average, small, looks overweight, but can play.
Sad that this is now the height of our aspirations!!

From Beckham, ronaldinho etc..
To dj Campbell & tabb

Everyone keeps harping on about building for next season.
Next season we'll have no Givet, Olson, possibly Hanley and maybe even Rhodes (god help us!)!
Just cannot see it happening.
I think MA's honeymoon period is over, despite the injuries.
He HAD to get players in and hasn't, whether that was down to venkys - ????

Totally agree, lets take a look at BFS successful signings, er hang on a minute, there are none, unless of course you count Linganzi who is now at accy, described by big sam as the new vierra.
Some people get all glassy eyed about BFS but truth is most of the succesful players under him were already here. In fact Steve Kean had more sucessful signings than BFS. Truth hurts I know.
Oh and also OUT WITH DANGEROUS DAVE who agrees with none truth statements like yours.

Okay okay, I'll give you Steven Nzonzi as a successful BFS signing, but when he was here, the said same doomongers and naysayers said he was no good anyway. Now they say he is ace. Did Sam sign anyone else of any note??

The point was: certain individuals made money from the transactions. Ruben and Simon simply didn't perform anyway. I can be persuaded if proof to the contrary can be provided.

My brother is a Cov fan and I've seen Tabb play many a time at the Ricoh arena when he used to play with them.

Back then, he was a very positive, creative and attacking midfielder. Tends to work through the centre and always looking for forward passes. Excellent work rate as well. If he still possesses these traits then I believe he would bring some creativity which we desperately need in midfield to feed our lonely strikers

His signings were not the greatest admittedly, perhaps sparky would have been a better example but you have to remember under big Sam we had no cash and even though potential never materialized for players like kalinic and nzonzi, they were better than what Appleton is looking at. Bfs brought players like Jones and hoilett out of the academy Sewell unless you believe Steve kean.

Thats a much better statement, Hughes signed loads of players and there were many successes. Pity he won't come back. The shear amount of money wasted by Kean and Venkys would purchase many a good team. But we are stuck with what we have now. Murphy is pants and needs his contract terminating along with Etuhus then we can find better quality players on the way up, instead of on the way out.

And these new loan players do? In my view Appleton has made us a weaker, cheaper outfit. I enjoyed watching rochina. I don't enjoy watching anybody in our current midfield

Agree Rochina was good to see and he could run with ball, take players on and make things happen. The matches were enjoyable than the dire defending play served at present. He just needed some advice/guidance. The new signings Campbell and Rekik have not lived upto expectations.
