Obviously dont have a clue about football so you? Presume you didnt watch the game at the weekend? Dann is a big confidence player and now has a manager that believes in him and has been very good recently. He & Hanley are key to the recent turn around in fortunes.

Putting my negative feelings towards the Venkys for what they have done over the last eighteen months at BRFC they seem to have hit one thing right.

Mr Appleton has certainly started to turn round the fortunes down at Ewood, the young man talks a lot of sense, the players are responding to him long may this continue, the result at weekend was mainly due to 94 minutes of pure graft from everyone including the traveling fans and in the end a fantastic result

I dont think Dann reads the game well(anticipation), though he has all the characteristics of a decent center half, but I must say MA has gone back to basics and reaping the rewards.

The motivation after beating Arsenal hopefully will see us nicking Palace or Boro's spot in the play offs.

So really happy to see the light at end of the tunnel.

Just shows some professionalism and hard work makes the world of difference to what squad we have.

Absolutely. This was a tremendous effort from just about everyone one but let's not get carried away. We didn't play particularly well, though, when we got the ball and you'd have to say that Arsenal probably wouldn't have scored if they'd still been playing now. The side still require tweeks in midfield and looked decent in defence but obviously not good going forward but I did not expect them to be against Arsenal, Appleton's selection and tatics shows he can make a silk scarf out of a sows ear, Well done to all the defence including Mr Dann a player I slagged off in the past but now seems to be the player we all hoped he would be.

Attack was sacrificed for defence. Hoping to get a breakaway goal. Which is exactly what happened. Tactics of a manager who knows how to set a team up to frustrate the opposition. These used to be the tactics of Howard Kendall. Win a game 1 0 that's all they have to do. If we achieve promotion then we can play attacking football. Assuming we can get the players in to do that. Give Rhodes the ball and he will do the rest. That is why DB has joined the fray. The next few games will show just what this team including the manager and his staff can do. Onward and upward.

Well, its all been said already about how good that result was on Saturday, nothing to add.
Yes we need to keep it going in the league but I believe we will, I believe Appy will see to that OK
I also believe that it is now that all Rovers fans must unite again, park all the bad feeling from the last two years, forget about the past and look forward. Mr Shaw has got us the right manager, credit due!

Well done Rovers!you made my weekend,thanks to the superb effort from the players and fans.For the first time in 2 years,I am proud to be a Rover and now confident we have a chance of moving forward rapidly.Michael Appleton and staff,seem to have the organisation that we have lacked for a long time.Onward and upwards!

Our defence was great, and for the whole 94 minutes too. A few weeks ago they would have died in the last ten minutes. Let's not get carried away just yet lads. The Gunners had 70% of the play but were toothless. If they still had Van Persie the result might have been different. Our midfield and forwards will need to be a lot better if we are to make it back to the Prem. However, Appleton has made huge improvements on the defensive end, and in team fitness, so let us hope that he can do the same up front.

the one player who has benefited most since the arrival of Appleton - it has been Scott Dann. as someone above has already said he looks a different player and is clearly a confidence. it shows how different players need different treatments to get a response - all decent managers need to identify those that need an arm round the shoulder and those that need a rocket up their jacksie.

whatever appleton and the backroom staff have done with him - it is obviously working (for the moment)

we can all see that there is a new found confidence and togetherness around the club as appleton and co have spread their magic dust. its still early but it doesn't seem to be just a flash in the pan

Totally agree and I'll go further, Dann was a 8loody liability. His reading of the game, judgement of high balls and passing was awful and you all know it. BUT, he has improved & only under Appleton, so that's got to be down to him or who's coaching him now. Maybe Kean was good at spotting decent players but couldn't get the best out of them cos as a manager he was clueless?
Time to stop the bickering, let bygones be bygones and get on with supporting the club we love. That includes slagging people off that have a different opinion!

Not only does MA say and do the right things, he's getting the players saying the right things and it's showing on the pitch. Dann has shown massive improvement since MA has come along, along with many other players.

I love how they are focussed on the league game rather than milking a brilliant result at Arsenal. You can guarantee that if Kean had gone to Arsenal and won, he would refer to that game in every interview after every bad game we played.

Well done Appleton and the lads, good luck at Millwall and maybe we can make the play offs. Would be one hell of a turn around if we can reach the play offs.

Wish I had been BB, I stopped going to away games when we first went into the PL, a combination of money and work commitments, I was severely tempted to take my daughter to the Emirates for her first away game but chickened out, we both spent the entire afternoon on pins kicking every ball.

We could hear the Rovers fans in the background of the commentary for most of the game, 1400 v 58,600 no contest. lol.

Scott Dann has been one of our best players so far this season.

Need to carry that through to the Hull game and get three points there. A draw won't be enough. Our 'post' Appy form is now counting against us and we have a lot of points to make up on the teams above. So 3 points is absolutely essential against Hull.

This is the game to judge the team's progress on, it will be a battle royal with no quarter given, I expect at 10 yellows to be shown, and at least one sending off from each side and a 3-2 win for the Rovers.

It has to be modan supposedly being a rovers fan. Those shallow Burnley twits are just flies. They shoo off at the first sign of rovers winning, fade quicker than a shadow and show how fickle they are. Modan is more offensive as he's not having banter with opposing fans. Im not so sure we can blame Kazim for that fully, in my eyes he needs to be laying it off in a more central position as opposed to always going wide with his lay off, let the man facing the play create and spread it wide when he can SEE it opening up however our centre midfield has not been one that thats making the box to box runs and getting up in support, im hoping Etuhu and or Williamson may help us improve in that area as lets face it Murphy is never gonna move anywhere too quickly so cant keep up and i dont think Lowe is up to it just yet as i feel his passing is a bit suspect so thats certainly our weakest point but at the moment its not fatal but would certainly need to be addressed if we did manage promotion.

If we stay organised in defence and Bentley & Co can get enough quality in to Rhodes we know he will finish so the confidence will continue to flow. 6 points is not a massive ask when you consider how many points are still on offer but we need to stay focused and not let the cup run take our eye off the actual prize

The score on your post is minus 56, I think that's a record! For me the main reason for the defensive improvement is that now we defend as a team, the midfield actually contributes. With players like Formica and Rochina in midfield the back four was always exposed, good teams never allow that. Dann did have some bad games, nightmare against Cardiff, but I still believe he's a good centre half. Even last year he was brilliant against United and Liverpool. The goalkeeper has made a big difference, the back four have more confidence in him than Robinson.

We need another good result tomorrow night to keep the feelgood factor going.
