Jubilant Dann insists upbeat Blackburn Rovers can be a match for anyone after Arsenal win
7:41am Monday 18th February 2013 in Football
By Andy Cryer, Blackburn Rovers reporter
A JUBILANT Scott Dann insists Michael Appleton's new-look Blackburn Rovers can beat anyone – as he eyes ending the season with double Wembley delight.
Rovers' stand-in skipper was a key figure in a herculean display to stun Premier League Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium and move the club to within one game of an FA Cup semi final at Wembley.
Colin Kazim-Richards’ second half strike was enough to seal a famous 1-0 win for Rovers, with just a trip to Millwall standing between them and a spot in the last four after the draw saw the Ewood men avoid the big guns.
Dann though is already focusing on tomorrow night’s crucial Championship trip to Hull City with Rovers just six points adrift of a play-off spot, as he looks for glory on two fronts.
He said: “If you come to a place in the FA Cup like this and win we have shown we can beat anyone. Hopefully we can get through and get a spot in the semi finals.
“Winning like that can only breed confidence. We have a big schedule ahead of us and that can only breed confidence.
“We have to take it into Tuesday's game and try and get the three points. Our focus is on the league and we are only six points off the play-offs “We are not a million miles away. Things are starting to change and we have to keep going. It is nice to win at Arsenal but we want to back in the Premier League.
“Obviously we want to do well in the league and get in the play-offs but by the time the quarter final comes round ,we will be drumming into each and every one of us we are only 90 minutes away from Wembley.”
Rovers have now gone more than nine hours without conceding a goal in open play, with Appleton's men travelling to Hull tomorrow on the back of a six-match unbeaten streak.
Dann said: “We seem a lot tighter as a unit, whereas maybe for the last 18 months we have been a bit all over the place.
“We have changed formations a number of times, now the manager has come in and brought us stability and we are starting to get understandings together.
“We have kept a good few clean sheets in the last number of games and obviously Jake has been outstanding. It is more as a team we have been solid though.
“Since the manager came in we have that togetherness, the lads are working really hard and that is a big thing.”
Dann also had words of praise for Rovers' travelling 1400 fans: “The fans were outstanding from start to finish and were a big help, they deserve that result,” he said.
“Since I have been here there have been a lot of ups and downs, comings and goings. With the way the manager and his staff have approached things, we finally have some stability.
“We have been frustrated in the past 18 months as players and the fans have been really frustrated. That happens, if we perform like that every game then we are heading in the right direction.”
Meanwhile, Rovers’ duo Leon Best and Dickson Etuhu are expected to make their return from injury in today’s reserve team clash with Sunderland at Leigh Sport Village.

The reason we were all over the place was largely as a result of YOU !!!!
We always went 1 down because YOU cant pick up at corners .. YOU cant see danger .. YOU dont inspire confidence in the defence .. YOU wanted to get a transfer every Summer and every Jan transfer window ..
You love to do interviews because it keeps your name in the Press !!!!
You are never worth a reported "£6m" and I wouldnt play you in our 5 a side team at the JJB .. FACT !!!!

Mr Appleton has certainly started to turn round the fortunes down at Ewood, the young man talks a lot of sense, the players are responding to him long may this continue, the result at weekend was mainly due to 94 minutes of pure graft from everyone including the traveling fans and in the end a fantastic result
Well done to all at BRFC

The motivation after beating Arsenal hopefully will see us nicking Palace or Boro's spot in the play offs.
So really happy to see the light at end of the tunnel.
Just shows some professionalism and hard work makes the world of difference to what squad we have.

Heres a sentence I thought I would never say as a Rovers fan, Kean was fantastic. We have always produced/developed/i
mproved goalkeepers, Flowers, Given, Friedal, Filan, Robinson and some of the young ones in Fielding and now Kean. Long may he continue.
At the moment the team has slowly started to gel under MA and I truly believe that the game against Arsenal was just the start of what the team can achieve. I feel there is another gear or two the team can step up to and really show how strong we really are.

Yes we need to keep it going in the league but I believe we will, I believe Appy will see to that OK
I also believe that it is now that all Rovers fans must unite again, park all the bad feeling from the last two years, forget about the past and look forward. Mr Shaw has got us the right manager, credit due!
Let's all concentrate on the the run in to the league and a semi-final in the cup now and get Ewood bouncing again
The players were bouncing at the end of the game on Saturday, if you could bottle that confidence you could sell it for a fortune
Nice to be a Rover again, pride is back and form is coming good at the right time.
Let's all be Appy Clappers

whatever appleton and the backroom staff have done with him - it is obviously working (for the moment)
we can all see that there is a new found confidence and togetherness around the club as appleton and co have spread their magic dust. its still early but it doesn't seem to be just a flash in the pan

Time to stop the bickering, let bygones be bygones and get on with supporting the club we love. That includes slagging people off that have a different opinion!

I love how they are focussed on the league game rather than milking a brilliant result at Arsenal. You can guarantee that if Kean had gone to Arsenal and won, he would refer to that game in every interview after every bad game we played.
Well done Appleton and the lads, good luck at Millwall and maybe we can make the play offs. Would be one hell of a turn around if we can reach the play offs.

and the defence has improved with clean sheets and scoring goals and not conceding goals.

Need to carry that through to the Hull game and get three points there. A draw won't be enough. Our 'post' Appy form is now counting against us and we have a lot of points to make up on the teams above. So 3 points is absolutely essential against Hull.
This is the game to judge the team's progress on, it will be a battle royal with no quarter given, I expect at 10 yellows to be shown, and at least one sending off from each side and a 3-2 win for the Rovers.

If we stay organised in defence and Bentley & Co can get enough quality in to Rhodes we know he will finish so the confidence will continue to flow. 6 points is not a massive ask when you consider how many points are still on offer but we need to stay focused and not let the cup run take our eye off the actual prize

The Americans,Russians and Arabs billionaires wanted to buy bigger and more glamorous clubs in England.
India is the second largest investors in UK created million of jobs in UK.
China and far eastern countries dumped all cheap goods in UK and Europe and millions of people lost their jobs in UK and Europe.
China wants to be superpower and dominate the world, they don't even speak English Language ,they don't know about cricket or football only martial arts
.China is an evil comunist country now a superpower because the WEST bought all their cheap manufactured goods.
India is the world's largest democracy free votes, free press, free courts and friends of UK,USA,EU,RUSSIA and ISRAEL.
India is a rising superpower by hardwork by rapid industrialization and booming economy in India.India speaks English langauge ,India has more Universities than any country in the world.India has 400 mllion middle class and yes India has 350 million people on poverty.India is sending £70 Billion by lifting milions out of poverty in India and India hope to eradicate poverty by 2025.India's poverty is not your problem or the problem for WEST .India is not asking for your ecnomic aid.India says the aid from USA,UK ,EU and Japan is $4.5 Billion is peanuts when India spends £70 Billion in welfare every year to eradicate poverty by 2025.India told UK,USA and EU we don't want your aid but come and trade with us.
India is aid donor eg
Starving Africa $5 Billion
Afganistan $2 Billion
Bangladesh $1 Billion
Sri Lanka,Bhutan,Nepal,S
ikkim about $1 Billion
I am a Blackburn Rovers fan living in Blackburn and there are 30,000 Indians living in Blackburn.Venkys bought BRFC because the town has a large Indian population.Venkys were offered other clubs in PL and Championship.
Football clubs are toys for billionaires to play with in their spare times.
Please don't do India bashing when you know BRFC is now owned by Indians Billionaire family.BRFC is bankrupt club with £20 million left by Walker and Venkys has to pay that up and spending millions to keep BRFC going in the League.
BRAG will harm the club ,morons who does not care about this club .
A true BRFC fan will go to Ewood Park every league games to support their beloved club like i do.
Indians are peace loving people while 500,000 British,European and American live and work in India .
Today Britain's Prime Minister is on a three days visits to India for trade and jobs for Britain. He describe India as an "Special Relationship with India"
He says India is th second fastest growing economy in the world and by 2030 India will have third largest economy in the world well we all know that.
India will overtake USA in 2040 and China will be the largest and India second.
I want Indian investment in UK and create jobs for British people because of the specail relationship with UK.
