King ruled out
2:13pm Monday 21st January 2013 in Football
By Chris Flanagan, Sports reporter
JOSH King remains sidelined with a hamstring injury for Blackburn Rovers' Championship clash with Brighton & Hove Albion tomorrow night.
The former Manchester United man has missed the last two games with the injury and Rovers boss Michael Appleton confirmed he would not be fit for the visit of Gus Poyet's men.
But the Rovers chief is hopeful of having the wideman in contention for the FA Cup fourth round tie with Derby County on Saturday.

THE USELESS COLUMN: If you have a shocker, beware...we'll be watching and branding men and women in sport Useless! Today it's the owners of Blackburn Rovers
Your striker fluffs a sitter, your keeper drops a clanger or your team's opening batsman has been out for a pair... all together now: 'Useless!' Here, in Sportsmail's new 'Useless' column, we highlight sportsmen and women who flop and deserve a panning from our man who delivers it best... Today the dubious honour goes to the owners of Blackburn Rovers Football Club...
They are the Blackburn board who sit where Jack Walker once turned his local club into Premier League champions (with a little help from his chequebook, Kenny Dalglish, Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton).
The Venky’s company, we are told by Wikipedia, are an ‘Indian company that specialises in chicken and meat processing and pharmaceutical products for both poultry and human usage’.
Well, they’ve got to be good at something, because when it comes to managing football clubs they appear to be USELESS.
Ranked by Forbes in 2000 as No67 in the 100 top global small companies, they have been at Blackburn since buying the club for £23million two years ago.
Since then they have sacked Sam Allardyce, when Blackburn were in a healthy mid-table Barclays Premier League position, Steve Kean (following relegation) and now Henning Berg, who won the title as a player but lasted 57 days.
They have taken the 1995 champions from the top league into 17th place in the Championship.
They don’t seem to know what they are doing at a proud club formed in 1875… and so they are added to our list.
And so say all of us! And so say all of us!

But who in their right mind would want to pay good money to buy the club with no leadership in the boardroom where they spend more time squabbling than work disgruntled supporters or those hardcore who have not left and dreary football which is dross after the Premiership feast we had before
Answer is nobody who is sane

3 idiots who have all been advising the Venks
As far as owners go...look at the money they are spending...No other club in the championship can compete with.
We have the largest players wage bill,
Doubled Appletons wage to 1.2mil,
A global advisor ???? at 400k pa !!! (No other club has)
Signing Players like Dann for 6mil, Rhodes at 8mil..
Hired a PR Company
The list goes on....
Yes they have sold big to do this but as least its being re-invested!
We could do alot worse than Venks......If they can get the boardroom right then just maybe we can move forward.
But throwing snow balls at them / death threats ect...is pathetic !
Be carful what you wish for...if you want them out then think who else would bank roll us like them!!

" Blackburn Rovers legend Simon Garner has condemned the owners of Blackburn Rovers for their “arrogance and insensitivity” this weekend.Speaking as an ambassador for Rovers Trust, the official supporters organisation, Garner said the way the Rao family chose to arrive at Ewood Park before the game against Charlton Athletic shows they have learnt nothing in the two years of their disastrous ownership of Rovers. The Venky’s family ostentatiously swept into Ewood Park in a fleet of limousines, headed by a top-of-the-range Rolls Royce, to be met by a crowd of protesting Rovers supporters stood beyond a line of security guards.Garner said: “To arrive at Ewood Park in such a way, with limousines, bodyguards and security, like they were attending the Oscars or something, was insensitive at best, but more likely yet another sign of their arrogance.“In two years we have had to endure the calamitous sacking of Sam Allardyce, Steve Kean’s disastrous reign, relegation, boardroom farce and the managerial merry-go-round this season.“In all this time, the Raos have done nothing to show they have learnt anything about Blackburn Rovers, English football, common sense or decency.“
The protests from fans were to be expected and should be taken by the Raos as a clear signal they and their appointees will never be accepted or trusted to run our football club.“I ask that they do the only decent thing they will have done in two years – put Blackburn Rovers up for sale and actively seek out a buyer.“I and others are prepared to help the owners in their search.“We want someone who will work with Rovers Trust to give the club back its self-respect, decency and sense of community.Garner is a non-executive director of the Rovers Trust and has been passionate about playing a part in bringing Rovers back to the fans and the community since the trust was formed last year.“We want to have a dialogue with the owners and we want it to be constructive for everyone’s sakes.“Surely, after the reception they received before and during the match on Saturday, after personally witnessing the embarrassingly low attendance – directly their fault – surely they must realise the game is up.“The way they left their seats after just 65 minutes was yet another PR own goal and shows their utter disinterest in the team and the club.“The only positive way forward for all Rovers fans is to join the Rovers Trust, like I have done, and let’s all try to get our club back.“Even a small shareholding can make a big difference and give supporters a feeling of belonging and ownership again.”Garner, Rovers’ record league goalscorer, has backed the supporter campaign to bring the club back into community ownership since the start early in 2012.He netted a record 168 goals in 474 league appearances between 1978 and 1992 and helped the club gain promotion to the Premier League for its first season in the top flight since the 1960s.Rovers Trust aims to take a stake in Blackburn Rovers, large or small, as the first steps in a vision to ensure supporters have a permanent voice and a say in the running of the club."

Fan ownership...a ridiculous myth, rarer than unicorn poo. then we have a bunch of neanderthals on film heckling the Rao family and throwing snowballs, threatening a middle age woman and a child.
What part of step away from the self destruct button do you lot not understand??
We don't have to love the owners, I didn't love the Walkers but we need the owners. Venkys record speaks for itself but we will rise above it if we stay calm. This mass hysteria will kill the club not Venkys.
They are putting money in, don't listen to JC's selective accounting rants, the club was £27 million in debt when they bought it two years ago. The debt has not increased, therefore it is being serviced which is all any owners would do. Does not matter where the money comes from, it is the owners responsibility to manage the business as they see fit. Does any one believe that players would not have been sold by the Walker Trust all the same?
We as fans need to back the club and wait for Venkys to get it right, maybe they will or maybe not but we are only going to hasten disaster with current behaviour and attitudes
I want the club to survive and succeed as far as we can , falling for the negative agenda propaganda has not done any good so far has it?

For the game Tuesday night, then we have to beat Brighton to get things going forwards again...a draw is not enough. Toughest game at Ewood for a lot of reasons, so will be crucial to see how the players respond to the weekends fiasco (on and off the pitch).

Forget the Prem. If you want to argue against the demonstrators then your argument should be that they are putting Rovers in jeopardy of relegation. Not that you are right. It is Venkys and The Global Adviser who are doing that. As an apologist for them what do you think of them arriving in a fleet of vulgar Rolls-Royces like they were the Maharaja's condescending to pay visit to somewhere they would rather not be?

They've lots in common. Both are big strong men - well above average height and build - and both are partial to battering defenceless women. Just the qualities required for a club battling relegation.
Perhaps if Colin could teach him how to channel that aggression in the direction of elderly neighbours whose life savings he **** away gambling and drinking, then they could put this club back on the map.

Except it's not quite that clear cut. The Economist has done a report based on the auditing of Barcelona's accounts by Deloitte. The audit reveals that Barcelona have a financial negative equity which amounts to €71m. The Economist says that due to the Act of Sport in Spain, football clubs are subject to different rules to a normal business and if Barcelona didn't have that privilege they would find themselves having to rebalance their assets.
This is a whole lot of jargon but along with other figures it shows the club are a bit of a financial basket case and the perception of them being what all others should aim for is farcical, off the pitch at least.
The Economist say that although the club only made a loss of €9.3m last year the total club debt is €578.1m, and perhaps even more worryingly, Barcelona are projected to struggle to pay back loans and service debts. They are in an enviable situation where banks almost take pride in lending them money and the €155m loan they took out last year to cover running costs has not yet been repaid." We at Brighton also suffered. Not to an overseas investor ironically, but to a property mogul from Blackburn ironically, who bought the club for £52.00 as it was £1m in debt, and sold the ground to a property developer for £20m. That was it. 100 years of history demolished in one financial deal.
We survived by hook or by crook, coming within 20 minutes of losing our football league status and now are challenging for a place in the Premiership. The supporters saved The Albion along with our version of Jack Walker, Dick Knight. It's been a hard and long journey but believe me, as fans, you can achieve the impossible if you pull together.
Having said that, can you wait until after tonight as having thrown away 2 points at Birmingham, we desperately need all three tonight to get back into play-off contention.
I wish you all the best from Saturday onwards. Fans unite !!
