CLITHEROE boss Paul Moore has made a double swoop as he bids to get his side back on track in the Evo-Stik League First Division North.

Moore, whose Blues won for the first time in six games last week at Goole, enjoyed a fine first half of the season before a festive period stutter and Moore has boosted his resources by bringing in Dean Canning and Isaac Kusaloka.

The Salford-born Canning moves to Shawbridge from Welsh Premier League side GAP Connah’s Quay is Dean Canning and brings a wealth of experience having served Colwyn Bay, Ashton United, Leek Town, Curzon Ashton and Trafford.

Zambian-born Kusaloka, who has also played for Kendal and Squires Gate, has signed from AFC Fylde.

Both men can operate up front or out wide and will add pace to the squad and could make their debuts tomorrow if Clitheroe’s Shawbridge clash with Ossett Albion beats the weather.

After a week of sub-zero temperatures that game - and the rest of the non-league programme – is in doubt, especially with snow forecast for today.

If the weather breaks, Chorley aim to build on last week’s win over Blyth Spartans when they head to Nantwich Town, while Ramsbottom United head to Hope Street for their game in the First Division North with Prescot Cables.

In the North West Counties League Premier Division, Padiham can look forward to a bumper crowd for their local derby with Padiham, while Barnoldswick Town are due at Maine Road.

First Division leaders Darwen are at home to Cheadle Town and Nelson make the trip to Atherton LR.

All games are under threat though. Keep up to date with all the latest online at lancashiretelegraph.co.uk where any postponements will be posted.
