Everybody should get behind the man, hopefully the players will too, its not his fault hes been offered the job, and like you said shoild be judged on results only

All true but at the same time you can't expect fans to have any belief in any decision venkys make. It's not fanss fault just as it's not Appleton fault. Being untrustworthy and dishonest breeds suspicion and negativity. I'm not sure venkys should expect anything more from fans after their trackrecord so far. The manager position at rovers is not a starter position. Its not a job for learners. They have given us learners so far. You get what you sow. That's what venkys are getting now from fans who have developed inbuilt distrust and skepticism. I hope he turns out to do a job like Hughes did.

I agree. Think the talk of stepping up protest or whatever is futile but I do think that its expecting a lot for fans to be accepting at a 4th managerial change this season and without any cynicism. We've just got a new manager at work and its somebody with experience of the job he is expected to be successful at and has a proven record of ability. If he hadn't I know now what the workers would think and what their attitude would be. That's how it works. Not in Venkys world though.

It's not just the fans who need to give him their full support, it's the players too. It's no secret that they were all happy working under Bowyer and McPhillips but they need to give their all for the new manager, regardless of how much they know about him.

As for Bowyer and McPhillips, they did a fantastic job but, by Bowyer's own admission, they were only helping the club out. I actually think they're the lucky ones for not getting the job on a more permanent basis. As soon as they lost a couple of games they would've been the latest target for the more fickle fans of Blackburn Rovers.

With regards to the media being their biggest source of an update, Bowyer said on Friday that he was informed of the club's approach for Appleton prior to it being released so please don't try to make something out of nothing, Andy.

what is the source to say that eric black was not informed directly by the management?

we sould give the man a chance, judging by the performance against wolves it looks like gary bowyers infuence is about to run out,the squad is simply not good enough, i hope mr appleton is wise enough to see that our midfield is woeful,and that we are desperate for a centre half and captain,jason lowe as a midfield player is a terrible waste of a promising full back, get behind the team on saturday.

Totally agree with everything you say Andy.

Just watching Phil Jones coming on for Utd and remembering Keans comment when he was sold "he wants Champions Leaugue football and we can't give him that yet". That numpty should have paid us 1.2 million compensation for having to suffer his ludicrous statements. We didn't believe him, Phil Jones didn't believe him, Samba and Emerton didn't believe him, Venkys obviously did.

The whole 'sources' argument is irrelevant. Gary Bowyer said he was told prior to the club making an announcement. He's also said that despite being asked to take over until the end of the month they were always aware that it could change at any time.

Do you think Appleton will be given any kitty for transfers? I doubt it. He'll have been brought in as a cheap option, his compensation appears to have been relatively small to Blackpool considering he was only 2 months in to a contract. I bet he agreed to make do with what we have. As you say the midfield is lacking. It showed at Wolves. Murphy has the vision but not the pace. He receives, stops, looks then passes by which time he's lost the ball. He's used to having more time in the PL. I was talking to some of the Cardiff team before our game with them and one said he thought Murphy would have found it easier playing in the PL

To 'get behind the manager' means, in effect, get behind Venkys. Sorry. That will never happen for me. I would rather see Rovers, who I've supported since the mid -fifties, .in the Lancashire Combination, or whatever, before I would put a penny into the pocket of the Indians. No way. And I'll continue to berate the shysters at every opportunity until they leave the club, in whatever state that may be. Venkys, in football terms, have broken my heart..

Unfortunitely we have no choice than to stick with venkys ,nobody will want us after the mess of the last few years,our only hope is that they have seen the error of their ways and will do better from now on,the first thing they shoud do is to get rid of singh he has caused almost as much damage as them, secondly back the manager in the transfer window and get rid of the dross that singh and keane brought to the club staying away from ewood will only hasten the demise of our club,

The greatest surprise would have been if everything had been done according to the best standards of management. No - on second thoughts - the biggest surprise was and still is that Venky's have managed to build a successsful business given their abysmal record with Blackburn Rovers. But none of this is Appleton's fault. I wish him all success and the naysayers are speaking too early. Well said Andy Cryer.

Exactly. Somebody said he hopes they've learned their lesson. People who still believe that Venkys are making mistakes that they will learn from are as deluded as Kean. Would be a long lesson if that's the case and they would need remedial teaching. Simple fact is they never intended to do it right. They don't care. Just a distant foreign owner who is clueless and disinterested and didn't buy the club for football reasons therefore why would they make footballing decisions? Their dad built Venkys. Do you think either Dumb or Dumber are running a multimillion pound company?

It looks like even Venkys household cannot agree never mind the unprofessional Shaw Agnew and Singh who cannot work together. It looks like Shaw has persuaded Madam with his vision like Kean used to do after trips to Pune. The Venky brothers appear to hae a different vision. Once again Madam wont listen to fans and recruited an inexperience, ordinary Manager. Lets hope the players buck up and ignore who the manager is continue putting greater effort like they have in last few games.

Getting behind Appleton isn't the same as supporting the Venky's. He's shortly going to discover he's been employed by three bad owners in his short managerial career. He wouldn't have been on my list however every genuine Rovers fan will want him to succeed.

Let's see what he has to say in his first interview if there is to be one. You can tell when you look in their eyes what might be going on. Keans darted from side to side, Bergs looked miserable and he averted them to one corner. Let's hope Appleton looks confident. On another note I see Kean wasn't offered the Barnsley or bristol job. Such talents wasted!!

Quite right.

Respect to you Andy, but let's not fuel more fires.

Also GB and co. are probably more savvy than what fans give them respect for, in what they could expect from the owners after what EB's brief caretaking earned him.

If nothing else, this brief period will have done his career a world of good if he ever decides to step up to the line. If Venky's don't value him, I certainly don't see him being out of work long.

Really hope Appleton makes his mark on the squad quickly and decisively. With Shebby no longer in the picture, team selection conspiracies should be put to bed for the time being at least. If he can pull off a few decent transfers and string together a few wins in these home games, the club should be able to get behind him as quickly as they did behind Team GB.

Going to be an interesting week.. Though you can't say its ever boring these days!

Appleton's beef at pool was the lack of vision in transfer activity, so why on earth would he have agreed to work with what he's got here??

I think you're getting mixed up with Shebbinator's plan and Appleton's appointment which will have been significantly different.

We darn well should hope so too.

Rovers next four league games are all at home and all winable

Michael Appleton takes over the team on a high after 3 wins and a draw but strengthening it needs

Gary B & Terry Mc deserve the clubs and supporters thanks for their efforts and they should be rightly rewarded.

Rovers need to nurture the academy players and let GB bring them through to first team - it may take time but it will be worth it.

Venkys just tell it as it is not as you dream it - and has Shebby gone or just sulking because he did not get his own way

I hope people don't expect promotion this season because our squad simply is not good enough.

Forget opposition managers saying we have talented players cos we don't. if we had good players we wouldn't be where we are at present. We have a lot of players who are not of the required standard.

If Appleton is to stand any chance of success in his role, he'll need to off-load many of Kean and Shebby's ridiculous signings and bring in his own or utilise last year's youth squad who have ruthlessly been overlooked in favour of these no-marks.

I'm prepared to give him a chance and hope he can at least stabilise us and give us some much needed credibility as a football club.

The problem is still the people 'running' the business.

This season is a right off. All the problems cannot be sorted in the next two weeks of the transfer window and it will be case of letting him find his feet to prepare for next season. The finances will dictate that a lot of the dead wood and high earners will be sorted out end of season and he should know by then the sort of additions he wants Lets hope that he has the potential to become a top Manager. and that Venky's can find the funding to absorb the big losses they have created. It's no good keep moaning now let Appleton get on with it as we have no choice. BRAG have completely lost the plot and are out of their depth.

I think you will find it was the father of these imbeciles who made the Venkys companies successful. I recall the news from a few months ago that the value of their companies had halved in the last year or two. I suspect they are as incompetent at business as they are at running a football club!

suggest cryer asks venkys for an interview and tries to build the bridges he has broken. Then he can put the question to them intead of copying off sky
