Chelsea defender Kane completes Blackburn Rovers move
1:08pm Wednesday 9th January 2013 in Football
By Andy Cryer, Blackburn Rovers reporter
Blackburn Rovers have confirmed the loan signing of Chelsea Under-21 captain Todd Kane.
The right-back, who has just completed a spell with Preston, joins on a one-month youth loan through to February 10th.
Rovers’ caretaker manager Gary Bowyer moved quickly to secure the services of the England Under-19 international after scan results revealed that Adam Henley would spend several weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
Born in Cambridgeshire, Kane has been with Chelsea since Under-8 level and after rising through the ranks, the tough-tackling defender has starred against Rovers in recent seasons on the big stage.
The 19-year-old, who is yet to play for his parent club, ended the 2011-12 season as part of the first team squad that flew to Munich for the Champions League final and was involved in the celebrations after Chelsea beat Bayern Munich in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.
Kane gained his first taste of senior football during a six-week loan spell with Preston North End, which ended on January 5th. He featured five times for the Lilywhites, making his league debut away to Leyton Orient in late November and playing twice in the FA Cup.
He is available for Rovers’ npower Championship games against Wolves, Charlton Athletic, Brighton, Bristol City and Ipswich, but is cup tied for the fourth round clash away to Derby County. Kane is Rovers’ second January signing after Josh King’s loan move from Manchester United was made permanent earlier this month.

We need Alan Curbishley he has common sense and is used to operating with a small budget in a club our size.I think he would work well with Bowyer as is assistant so come on Shebby stop looking at people with contracts when you can get the unemployed.

rman. Your board sell every little asset you ever have even when you struck gold and got to the premier league they wouldn't invest! Your club are the laughing stock going nowhere, you couldn't even beat us on your own patch against the worst team we have had for 20 years, yet you try to look down and laugh at us! Pffft

The present owners, also multi millionaires, allegedly say they want us in the Premier league. I say allegedly because they don't talk to us and we have to get our info through a go-between..Their approach is different from Uncle Jacks. They sell all the good players in the team , buy mainly has beens, and get kids in on loan. Makes an interesting comparison, don't you think?. Your only involvement in the transfer window will be when those greedy owners who've took you for mugs (and you're braindead enough not to see it) sell bob the builder for a lot less than you think he's worth and pocket the income like they've done for years.
Great signing , saw this lad in Young Cyl final ( after we'd d1cked the inbreds in the semi) and he looked class. Good luck to him, it won't lead to a permanent signing but enjoy him while we can and while the dingle fascination with their superior neighbours grows and becomes more and more bitter!

I'm sure Kenny paid about half a mil but I'm not 100%. I know it's not tens of millions but it was alot back then for a left back in the old Div 2.....
I do remember him signing Duncan Shearer to stop him scoring for Swindon though! Great days, no wonder those hairy faced pig farmers were so angry and bitter lol

Don't know why everyone is assuming Shebby has brought this young loan signing in. He hasn't got the nouse or knowledge to go and search for young English league players but Gary Bowyer does as he comes in contact with them all the time. If Gary thinks the lad can do a job for him and will give him more options during his month in charge then thats fine with me and good luck to him. If Gary does well during his January spell I would let him have till the end of season because all the latest names being banded about are ONCE AGAIN No Marks with no good track record. I have said it all before if you want a very experienced manager and a safe pair of hands with experience in both the Premiership and Championship you will have to go a long way to beat Curbishley, a little bit like Sam but with more focus on playing attractive football and more of a Diplomat and might fit in better..

Well we now seem to have great excitement on here today that we are signing (on loan) a 19 years old kid. for a month. No sign of an experienced,, mid-twenties, well established player, for 2-3 mill. who could perhaps run down the wing a little bit and cross for Rhodes, then? Nah, lets keep the wage bill down but give the plebs a new face to look at.
Happy days..
The baffoon Sing is still there. Rovers, notwithstanding he recent run of victories, will not progress whilst Silly and Venkys are around

rman. Your board sell every little asset you ever have even when you struck gold and got to the premier league they wouldn't invest! Your club are the laughing stock going nowhere, you couldn't even beat us on your own patch against the worst team we have had for 20 years, yet you try to look down and laugh at us! Pffft
Its where lots of jokers get together and the audience have a really good laugh at the jokes.
So because these pages have the same concept as the jokers at the apollo we are only here for the laughs, it's as simple as that.
HAHA we don't have to try do we thicko cos ooops thats where you are below us HAHAHA

However, a game between Burnley and Stoke had to be called off a couple of seasons ago because despite widespread freezing, Burnley Council didn't grit the roads and pavements, and Burnley FC failed to do the same in and around the 'stadium'.
