ADAM Henley is aiming for a repeat of last season’s FA Youth Cup triumph at Turf Moor when Blackburn Rovers travel to Burnley on Sunday.

Henley was part of the team that won 2-1 at Burnley in the FA Youth Cup semi finals in March, to seal a 3-1 aggregate triumph.

The 20-year-old right back has since returned to first team duty and is desperate to feature both in tomorrow’s home game against Bolton and in the weekend trip to Burnley, having forced his way into the starting line-up recently.

“I can’t wait,” said Henley, who grew up in Chorley.

“I played in the FA Youth Cup game against Burn-ley last year and that was a fantastic atmosphere and hopefully Sunday will be one to remember.

“Last year’s Youth Cup game was huge.

“As a local lad I am really looking forward to it and hopefully they will both be fantastic games to be a part of.

“It’s obviously a big game and it is one I am really looking forward to.

“I know all about the rivalry with Burnley being from the area and know how important it is that we get a result.

“I grew up knowing about the whole thing.

“Obviously I would love to put in a great performance, especially for the fans, and we want three points from Bolton and Burnley.”

Henley, capped by Wales at Under 21 level and also called up to the full international squad in the summer, is determined to help Rovers back towards the play-off places after their three-game unbeaten run ended with a 2-0 home loss to Millwall on Saturday.

“It might mean a bit more to me but the whole team will want to bounce back,” he said about Rovers’ imminent derby fixtures.

"It is important we don't get too down about it (the Millwall defeat), and come back and get some good results.

"We are all disappointed. It's hard to take a loss at home but we've got a game tomorrow and we need to stay positive and go into the next game on the front foot.

"It is important that we bounce back quickly and the team gets together and we get some positive results."

Indeed the nature of the Championship, with games coming thick and fast heading into the festive period, could be the key to Rovers regaining some momentum according to Henley.

"Games coming quickly is important when you want to bounce back," he added.

"There is going to be game after game in the Championship and we knew that coming into it. It is important we stay on an even keel and take every game as it comes."

Henley added that the squad was frustrated with the weekend defeat to Millwall coming with two goals in the final 20 minutes, but determined to turn it round with double derby day delight.

"They were fantastic strikes but we were all very disappointed," he said. "It was a bad result for us but they were a difficult team to break down.

"We weren't quite on it and didn't quite have the final ball. If we had been a few more chances might have come off and it might have been a different game."
