HENNING Berg fears Blackburn Rovers’ opponents could be being given an extra edge – as the club look to put a stop to a training ground leak.

Rovers’ starting line-up has been ‘revealed’ on the internet the day before the game for their last three Championship matches and, ahead of tomorrow’s visit of Birmingham City, Berg is wary about giving away too much information.

It is understood the details, which are being released via twitter and fans forums, have not come from an inside source and that they are coming from someone who lives looking on to Rovers’ Brockhall training ground.

The source of the material is anonymous online but Rovers are hopeful they can find out who it is and come to a compromise with the individual.

Berg said: “Sometimes you can argue how much impact that is going to have on a game or not. The opposition will look at our games anyway and they will think what way we are going to go.

“To be fair we have not changed things dramatically. If you want to make some big changes for one game though it can have an effect. If you don’t change too much each game maybe the effect won’t be too big.

“But of course, the more we can keep back and not give the opponents the better. We are aware of the situation of things coming out from the outside and of course if that is the case we will have to look into that.

“We have to see how we make sure what we do on the training pitch is not what others put on the net. I am pretty sure it is not from inside, I’m fairly sure there is someone on the outside.

“It is good that they are interested in the team but they don’t have to put the team out. Hopefully we can sort that. I think we need to get people to understand it can give the opposition that extra 1 per cent.

“I like they are interested in the team but, if they want to put out the team selection, wait until an hour before the game, or even an hour and 10 minutes before kick off so they are first. That will be fine.”

Rovers entertain Lee Clark’s Birmingham tomorrow looking to give Berg his first win as Rovers boss, as they look to build on an encouraging 2-2 draw at Huddersfield in midweek.

Only a 94th minute leveller from Lee Novak stopped Berg’s men from taking maximum points and the Norwegian is hopeful they can improve again.

He said: “The good thing for us was there was a big improvement from Saturday to Tuesday. We played much better both defensively and offensively.

“Now the next step is to make sure the good spells we had, to have them for longer, and to see games out when we are winning.

“When there is 30 seconds left of a game we want to make sure we keep the ball, rather than go for that third goal in the last few seconds.

“The best defence for us in that game was to make sure we didn’t lose the ball. For me, the biggest thing was we had the ball, we didn’t need to make a killer pass, we didn’t need to score a third goal.

"We have a young team and they want to go forward and they want to score goals, but we have to be able to kill games off.”
