BURNLEY manager Sean Dyche is set to look into signing a number of first team stars on to new deals, including top scorer Charlie Austin.

The Clarets’ 20-goal striker has less than 20 months to run on his current contract, while deals expire this summer for six of the side that started Tuesday’s win over Leeds.

Lee Grant, Michael Duff, Chris McCann, Ross Wallace, Dean Marney and Martin Paterson could all technically walk away from the club for nothing at the end of the season if new terms are not agreed, while Austin (pictured) is among eight players whose deals expire after the 2013/14 campaign.

Burnley are already facing a battle to keep hold of their hotshot during the January transfer window, with a number of Premier League clubs scouting the 23-year-old.

But Dyche intends to look at securing a longer future for Austin, among others, at Turf Moor.

“I will be looking at his contract situation, but I’ll be doing that with all the players, not just Charlie,” he said.

Dyche has had a hectic start to life at Turf Moor, with three games in a week to prepare for. The Clarets travel to Ipswich Town tomorrow.

But without a midweek game now scheduled until the trip to Barnsley on November 27, it will allow the 41-year-old more time to get to work on looking at new deals for key players.

He has admitted he does not mind the attention Austin is receiving, though, while rival clubs are also understood to be monitoring Marney, Pater-son and McCann.

“It’s a double-edged sword,” said Dyche.

“You want to be at a club where people want your players.

"People want Manchester United players because they're market leaders, and we want to be considered like that, people wanting your players.

"That usually means your players are doing well, and you're doing well.

"On the slipside, you don't want to lose your players, but it's the reality of the business.”

Meanwhile, Dyche hopes the Clarets can go about their business at Ipswich Town tomorrow maintain his 100 per cent record with his first away win since taking charge last week.

The Tractor Boys will be smarting on the back of a 5-0 midweek thumping by Crystal Palace, but Dyche is urging his players to concentrate on their own strengths in order to exploit any weakness in the opposition.

"We've got to be aware of the opposition. We always prepare the team to know about the opposition, but it's about us going to Ipswich and going and grabbing the game,” said the Clarets boss.

"We'll be going there to win.”

Dyche will run fitness checks on Ben Mee in the run-up to naming his squad. The defender limped off in the second half against Leeds with a foot injury but has been receiving treatment to reduce the swelling and bruising.
