Berg: I'm delighted to be back at Ewood

New manager Henning Berg New manager Henning Berg

NEW Blackburn boss Henning Berg says he is delighted to be back at Rovers - and has made promotion back to the Premier League his priority.

The Norwegian was unveiled as Steve Kean's replacement this morning and beamed: "It is fantastic to be back.

"I have so many great memories of this place as a player and it was a great feeling driving into town again.

"This is a challenge I look forward to, the only thing we are looking to achieve is promotion, that is all that is important to us.

"I have spoken at length to the owners and Derek Shaw, Paul Agnew and Shebby Singh and I believe this club is heading in the right direction.

"The owners are very ambitious, they have shown that with their changes over the summer. They have changed the manager and brought new players in and they have shown they want this club to be back in the Premier League.

"I believe we have a good chance of going back up to the Premier League and I believe my experience as a player and as a manager in Norway will help me in the challenge I have ahead."

Of the future of his backroom team and caretaker boss Eric Black, Berg added: "It would be foolish of me to come in here and make changes straight away.

"It is important to get to know people here and we will see where we go then.

"Eric Black has done a great job as caretaker manager, he has made the team a lot more solid and has given me something to build on. I look forward to getting to know the people at Blackburn and we will take things from there."

Total and utter Bull. Henning was slagging off the owners not so long ago and now backs their vision. Whose he trying to kid. Beggars belief. This is all going to end in tears as Rovers slide down the table henceforth. Long gone are the glory days we will never see Premiership football as longas Venkys are there and hypocrities like Berg, Askew, Hendry, Singh, Anderson are around. RIP BRFC 2012. Equally Berg was way down the list of Managers wanted by the fans in a recent poll but now we suddenly have people coming out of the word supporting this appointment - very suspect indeed!!!!!
The only way Berg can put some credibility into hos appointment is to get shut of Black and Hendry and bring in his own backroom staff otherwise this appointment will be seen as just another yes man for Shabby Shabby and the Venkeys!!!

He can't believe his luck, sacked from a Norwegian club a year ago after leading them to their worst start to a season in history and has been unable to find work since - he then speculatively applies for a Championship job with his former club and then gets appointed (By the very people he was slagging off a few months previously)??

Also don't lend Hendry anything!

tell you what lets have a referendum sort it out once and for all , best gates at rovers in Premiership where around 23,000 fans, assuming all the true supporters were in that lot, a majority is 11,500. So on the 10th November against Birmingham , all completely disillusioned with the club , dont come and all those in favour of moving on regardless of the owners and getting behind the team and the new manager who clearly has a passion for this club turn up. Then we will know what the majority of Fans think. Me I will be there , up to the rest of you.

GOOD LUCK HENNING FROM THE FANS !!!!

You were always a good solid pro, who gave his all and would take time to talk to the fans as a player / manager / pundit / etc .. (Steve Kean take a note)

You need & will get time from the fans now to assess the squad ..

You will find some journeymen (Orr / Dann / Formica / Murphy / etc) who we are ready to move on in January ..

There are some good solid pros (Robinson / Givet / Nuno Gomes / Pederson) who can help us secure promotion ...

There are some exciting new young players that just need better coaching & managing (Rhodes / Rochina / Kazim / Lowe)

There are some players that need to be moved out next year (Dunn / Portuguese kids / Etuhu / etc) ..

I for one am happy to be feelin good about our club again - Im back at Ewood every week and going away again with ..

Let's give him a chance from the offset. Hopefully he'll be his own man and assess the current staff before making any decisions about his backroom team. With that squad he won't need to be Jose Mourinho to get promotion. Come on you Blues, more than anything it's painful having to watch the matches 'live' on t'net with text commentary as opposed to the full TV Premier League coverage we get here in the UAE. Even though I feel that an opportunity has been missed not to have appointed someone who is at the top of their game at the moment or who has been succesful at Championship level at least. It is now time to back the man to the hilt I am sure he will be fair and will try his best for the club and supporters, he also should be shown some warmth from the fans with him being part of the championship team of the past. Since he is prepared to come to the club he must feel that some sort of structure is now in place where before it wasn't.At least Derek Shaw knows what its all about and is helping to bring some stability back to the club, We just have to hope that Shebby Sing doesnt rock the boat by trying to be his own man instead of doing his best to help Berg achieve success and listens to what he wants and not go buying players behind his back etc. Anyway enough of the negatives lets all try and go forward together and get down to Ewood and give him all the support he needs.

He faces many challenges, are the back up staff good enough?, is the squad balanced for the championship?, are the owners good people at heart?
I believe promotion under those challenges may be beyond him for this season but time will tell and the January window may be decisive.
Anyone who has managed any operation where the efforts of others are vital to your success knows how difficult that is, so again good luck Henning, 100% behind you.

The squad looks good enough on paper, just need to get the right blend of players, and I must hold my hand up and say that Black seems to have turned things round over the few games he has been in charge, so worth keeping him on as assistant coach on merit.
Its' all about results now, and everyone needs to get behind the club and stop moaning about things off the pitch and concentrate on backing the team and manager. I'm looking forward to Best coming back, then we will have a big boost to the forward line, what team is going to relish the prospect of Best and Rhodes playing against them?

To be fair Nuttall Street, Black took over from the wreckage that Kean left. He was never going to turn it round over night but he did stop us leaking goals for fun. His points gained were reasonable given the short time he was in charge.

I do agree with you that the football didn't improve under him but he wasn't given much time.

Henning Berg was a great player for Rovers, even when he left to go to Utd he handled the process with dignity. Not a big time charlie like Sherwood or Shearer and he has some management experience so he isn't a complete novice.

I also doubt he will hang on for grim life like SK if and when the time comes for him to go because he isn't that sort of man.

All this negativity about his record in Norway, seems to me like he had a fairly decent record on the whole with little money to spend...that shows a decent coach for me.

And why should he slag off his new bosses on the first day of his new job? Would you? Whatever has been said is said. Berg has an affinity for Rovers and I doubt he's coming here just to line his pockets.

Unfortunately I cannot be at Ewood to welcome him for his first home game (the 48 hour commute and $6000 fare is a bit of a killer) but I will be listening on Radio Rovers on t'internet during the middle of the night, wishing him all the best and I think every Rovers fan who can get to Ewood should get there and support him and the team. Doesn't matter who owns us, it only matters what happens on the pitch so we can get back into the PL.

Henning was not personally my first choice, but now we must get behind him and the team.

The Palace game on Saturday is a very good game for him to start with because they are flying high, so we can begin to judge how good Henning will be at 5 p.m on Saturday.

I hope he keeps Eric Black in the coaching department as he knows his stuff.

Eric has showed signs of improving our defence (1 goal conceded in 3 games) but lets see if Henning can balance that with some attacking flair too, perhaps a straight 2 up front at Palace?

In addition, I wonder how he will deal in the transfer market in Jan, what types of players he brings in. I understand he likes pace, which is perhaps what our team is crying out for on the wings to feed the ammunition for Rhodes and another striker.

Tell me fellow rovers supporters, what do you think of my analysis above?

Looking forward to the meeting between Dyche and Berg in December:

'Hi Sean, don't think we've met before and I don't really know much about you. How's about we talk about our careers to catch-up? Let's start with our 'nearly moments'. I would've won the Champions League but got injured just before the final, which we won by the way.'
'Yeah, well i lost in the semi final of the FA Cup once, Henning'.
'Unlucky. What about the League Cup? Here's my winners medal - i was captain that day you know....'
'Well I'm manager of the club that came REALLY close to getting to the final once, that must have really hurt them actually.'
'OK, what about Prem winners medals? I've 2......'

There are some complete cretins commenting on here. NO TRUE SUPPORTER could say they're moving to support Burnley, or any other club. A supporter is there through thick and thin, wins and losses. We supporters remember the old Third Division, it was brutal, but we still went and backed the club.

By supporting the club you're not becoming a major shareholder in Venkys, or offering to be the godparent of Shebby's kids, you're supporting a club that will still be there when all these people have moved on.

It's a game of football for goodness sake. Get a grip, give Berg a chance and our 100% Rovers backing, make Ewood a fortress once again, and bring back a proper atmosphere to the club. Berg will succeed or not, we'll be in the Premier League next season or not, but we'll still be Blackburn Rovers.

Have Leeds fans and Portsmouth fans given up on their clubs? No, and they've been through much worse than what we're experiencing. Ours might be more surreal but not as club threatening.

As for the backroom staff, they've done a great job over the past month of uncertainty. However much they and the players get paid, they're human beings and human beings don't deal well with uncertainty. So to hand over the reigns with us still in the top 6 is creditable - Berg's right to keep them on and assess them.

And I don't condone any of Hendry's off field activities, but no-one can argue our defence doesn't look better from front to back in the last four weeks - surely as defensive coach, he must have had an impact? Dann even looks like the quality centre half we were told we were getting.

Enough of the moaning, enough of the complaining, lets get on with enjoying Blackburn Rovers, enjoying being at Ewood, and enjoying the rest of the season.

Welcome to the madhouse Henning, the majority (and I mean true majority not Kean majority) of the fans wish you all the success in the world, as your success = our success.

The fact that Berg has spoken out about the diabolical way the club is being run actually gives me confidence. At least we, as fans, know he's fully aware of the shambles - something Kean never seemed. Therefore, we should see a manager trying to get things back to normal.

Again, it's not the experienced and ruthless manager I wanted, but I remain fully behind Berg and the team.

Like i posted on a previous story, Bergs appointment certainly didn't disappoint me , sadly because it was obvious that our shyster owners have no intention of running our club in a professional and open way or caring what the fans oinion is ,so they would no more put the team in the hands of a proven established manager than they would open their accounts to legal scrutiny. The fact is that Berg is what we have and only time will tell if he will be our saviour or just another yes man and puppet for this arrogent and ignorant regime that has downgraded us from the proud and respected Premier league Club we were just a couple of years ago to the seemingly corrupt and crumbling, laughing stock of a club we seem to have become. What i believe we supporters have to do now though is to give Berg a chance to show that the obvious passion he had for our team during his playing stints here in the past still remain and that he has not only the ability to create the team for promotion, but also has the balls to be his own man, and run his and our team as a professional Manager should be able to. I believe also that he needs to tell the 'global advisor' quite early on , that his experience of playing for two teams that were at the pinnacle of the premiership during his career, and his management experience count for far more in decision making and buying players than does an 18 year career playing for Kaula Lumpar and a rather embarrasing trial at Southport F.C.( see Wikipedia) As i said,i feel we have no option but get behind Berg and give him the best atmosphere for hopefully success, because if he were to fail, the same 'dark forces ' of a certain media controlling agency are sure to be employed oce again in blaming the fans for being against him from the start, unless we can prove otherwise . So heres to hoping, because i'm afrid it's all we have........ C.O.Y.B. !! R.T.I.D. since 1969

Black has actually done a decent job. I get the impression you dont even go and watch the games and just want to stir cr*p. I go to the games and I don't believe he's done a bad job at all. So shut up.
I go to the games and Rovers under Black have been dreadful, absolutely dreadful and Black was unable to do anything about it. Whatever Blacks merits he was a lousy interim manager.
Rovers were "dreadful, absolutely dreadful" under lard-arse, did you complain then?

Black to his credit has tightened up one of the leakiest defences in the entire football league, this under extreme pressure because he was a stand in.

Surely that stands for something? i.e.. seven points in the last three games he was in charge, this with a team that obviously has no confidence, an half filled stadium and so called "fans" ready to kick off at the drop of an hat.

OK, not pretty, but we haven't had pretty football at Ewood since lard-arse took over.

But I bet you could have done so much better couldn't you? You and the rest of the moaners should have applied for the job.

Berg is right in what he his saying, any manager who goes into a new job needs to have a proper look at what assets he has at his disposal before deciding what to do.

Putting aside the obvious trolls, it is very disappointing that some still hold an agenda against our, up to now, poor owners.
I am not happy with Venkys tenure so far, but Henning is a new start for me and he deserves 100% support.
Yes he has criticised them, and it was fully deserved, but he has also put himself forward to these self same people in applying to manage and steer us in the right direction.
To claim he has turned coat and is now a stooge is very unfair and unjustified as I for one do not believe he of that sort.
I believe he is still passionate about our club, and is desperate/determined to put things right.
Anyone who thinks otherwise may as well stay away, as you are doing no one any favours. Not the team, the club, HB, all other supporters or yourselves for that matter.

My only hope is that most people with an ounce of grey matter can see through this rubbish for what it is. Instead of forming a protest group whilst the dingle monkeys who started all this by stealth sit back and p1ss their sides at your stupidity.
I at least admire the likes of midas and co who come on here and dish it out with their colours nailed to there chests, fair play to them. But the others who claim to be TRUE ROVERS FANS and then demand a boycott and the new manager hasn't even seen his office yet!!! Totally bizarre
OUT WITH MONKEYS.
Congratulations Henning and welcome back. The job here should be pretty straight forward with the squad we have with a minor tweak and an addition or two. Good luck and see you at ewood.

I was disappointed when I heard the news yesterday but am coming round to the idea, Berg served us well and holds the club close to his heart. His managerial career aint great but all the fans wanted was someone better than Kean....and Berg will certainly be that.

Lets give him a chance and 100% backing.

Who, taking a new job would publicly criticise his new employers on the first day? Only Dingles. Hence 45% unemployment in Bonleh - and most of
the rest are taxi drivers or takeaway owners (or both).

It's great to hear how Bonleh fans pronounce their new manager's name - any way apart from D!ck or Dyke.

No problem there really, but judge him at 5 o'clock on Saturday, this Saturday???

Come on, thats totally unrealistic. For me its start judging his peformance from maybe 4 or 5 games in.
If EB is good for the squad, he will be retained. If HB feels he needs another that will happen as it most clubs. It seems to me he should be retained, but thats only an opinion and I am not HB.

Couldn't agree more, Venky's have made some terrible errors in the past but they do appear to be attempting to change things.

I still don't trust them, they have to earn that trust, but in signing up Berg, someone who has been openly critical of them in the past, well, I actually see that as a huge step forward.

Seeing his interview on Sky this morning I was impressed by his honesty, even Shebby made sense and I never thought I would ever have said that.

We have a top 6 team even though we haven't played all that well, some decent players who must have been wondering what the hell was going on, and a new manager who has played at the highest level under some pretty decent managers.

What have we got to loose?

I also heard that the whole thing is an elaberiate plan of by Roman Abromovich to ensure Chelsea meet the fair play rules, apparentley he has backed a number of companies to take over relatively sucessful clubs so that they can gain media exposure, they in turn ruin those clubs forcing thousands of fans away. Now here is the clever bit, this then means more fans over the winter months are watching the games in their own homes increasing the electricity and gas usage by around 10%, Abromovich has recentley been trying to purchase the old battersey power station many thought to build a new ground, oh no this is to build a chelsea oil fuelled power station which he will then use to supply this increased power demand thus raking in fortunes to chelsea football club, allowing him to spend fortunes on the team. Berg was an oustandiing pro linked with Rovers' greatest successes in recent times, so he arrives with a great deal of good will and deserves the benefit of the doubt.
As to what Berg said some months ago and how to square that with his acceptance of the job - well that's not too difficult to explain.
At the time of the first quotes, the LET and everyone else in footie journalism were phoning round to get criticism of Venky's disastrous reign. Berg let go with both barrels with no ulterior motive, surpising many of us, who had him down as a steady, mild, diplomatic guy. I assumed that he was displaying real passion for the club and credit to him for that.
He has clearly followed the sorry saga. When the job becomes vacant he applies. How many of us in our jobs and professional lives have'nt /wouldn't do the same ? Criticised a set-up but then taken the chance to take over and run things as we think they should be run.
Of course, a huge doubt remains whether Venkys and Shabby will indeed allow him to do so and given their track record fans are quite entitled to be skeptical - I'm sure Berg himslef is, and as far as possible sought reassuraces. He's taking a risk, too for a club he is clearly very fond of. So good luck, Henning, welcome back, I'll be there for the Brummie game... and that will do for now.

Where have all these idiots come from on here? I barely recognise a username. All Burnley fans posting under false accounts. Its so blatently obvious. First thing, Berg was not what I hope for but I wouldnt have felt any better with Holloway. He wasnt a match for Shebby and Venkys. Second, I dont believe Berg was Shebby and co's first, second or third choice despite what they said. BUT, we are not an attractive prospect because of the ownership and management structure, we all wanted that cretin Kean out and have all said to a man we would rather than anybody but him. We know Berg is a hard worker, he came across confident without sounded like he was sucking up, he answered the question about his criticisms clearly, he didnt waffle and he didnt make grand claims like Kean. Shebby also spoke to the point and we now just have to hope for the best and pull together. We cannot afford to be blamed for another relegation. I would feel less happy with the appointment Burnley made or Bolton so lets give him a chance

Smelly. As I have half a brain, I qualify to reply. Although I will do it only once, not dozens of boring times like you do.
Do you ever leave your keyboard ?
A year ago, many on here were saying "why don't former players speak out against Venkys ?". Well, Berg did. He was one of very few who did. Venkys know what he said back then and must realise that they are not getting another yesman. Perhaps they have finally realised that, to get them out of the mire that they have created, they need someone who knows about football at the highest level, and will tell them the unvarnished facts. Sam Allardyce would have done that, but he was swept away in that initial bout of poorly advised stupidity by the owners.
All contributors are entitled to state their opinions, but your continued rantings add little to a reasoned debate.

He needs time and we all need to get behind him and the team and support them.
Steady on Owd Nick! In answer to your 2 questions:
1. Yes, I did complain under lard arse. (Good name by the way).
2. Yes, I could have done better myself. In fact I could easily have done a lot better.
I will certainly give Berg a good chance, but I will not put up with listening to bull from the manager saying whatever suits him in the moment like some politician.

I am just glad that we now have a manager, hopefully that will follow with advertising and sponsorship boards around Ewood, and then a shirt sponser. If it were my vlub I would go to WEC group grovel and splash there logo over the shirt for the next two seasons free of charge. Might bring back some familiar sponsorships.

I for one feel just the same as I did before the appointment of Berg, sad and disconsolate at the state of the club. No atmosphere and poor crowds at Ewood, no shirt sponsor, limited corporate sponsorship in general and a stagnant air of decline.

Yes I renewed my season ticket after Kean left but the whole thing just feels hapless and hopeless. Can any of us really say we feel the same about the club since these criminals took over? They have created a tangible gulf between fans and club. We are all tired of their b+llsh+t.

As for Berg an unexperienced coach whose first priority is to praise the owners and board. Sound familiar?

I hear what you say Dan but consider this.
When Kean was in charge it was apparent to many that the guy was way out of his depth so I took the opportunity to investigate Keans background.
The guy made 6 professional appearances in the UK in his whole career. 6, that is three less professional appearnces than Ali Dia who souness gave a pro contract to at southampton because he said he was georgi weahs cousin. Ali Dia made 9 professional appearances in the uk.
So we can conclude that as Ali Dia was eventually found out to be a conman and not a footballer at all we can say that Kean was a conman and he too was also never a footballer. Taking into account his track record of telling porkies, he dicovered Phil Jones you know as we were going to let him go deemed not good enough, was one of many.
So we have gone from a confidence trickster to a Nowegien international former captain who has won everything in his career.
Is there therefore grounds to be a bit more cheerful? You bet your arse there is. Conman Kean out. Onwards and upwards

STC, In various comments you have insinuated that Anderson is Berg's agent and last night I asked you a genuine question: is Anderson Berg's agent? Do you KNOW? I asked for a genuine reply. You gave me no reply.

If indeed you KNOW that Anderson is Berg's agent then it sheds a very different light on things. But YOU DON'T KNOW! And you also DON'T KNOW MOST OF WHAT YOU CLAIM. YOU JUST MAKE IT UP!

If you KNEW what you were talking about, you would have taken this golden opportunity to inform the Ewood faithful and get them on your side and respect your opinion. But you live in a FANTASY WORLD! It's all make believe and poppycock.

But you know what? I have a house for sale. It's fantastic, beautiful, incredible. It is worth £2million but I am feeling really generous and I will give it you in return for £10,000. Just put your email address in a reply, smelly, and I will be in touch. All you need to do is give me a down payment of £1000 only and I will send you full details of the house. This is a fantastic opportunity for you, believe me. Believe me, this is the best opportunity you will ever get. Believe me, all other houses are pathetic by comparison. Believe me when I say that I think you are perfect for this house, you and my offer are totally matched for each other. Do it now - send me £1000, it will be the best thing you've ever done!

I'm not quite with you here. I watched them on SSN this morning. Berg and Shabby were sitting together in front of the sponsors board that has just Venkys and Umbro on it. Reporters were asking questions. Is that not a 'proper sit down conference?' Later it showed Berg talking at the side of the pitch..Anyway, to matters in hand. I'm glad he is retaining Black for the time being. I think he will be useful. I also note he spoke of several team matters he wouldn't probably have known without closely following them. A good sign. I'm still not entirely convinced but like many on here I'll get behind him and wish him luck.

So, lets look at it slightly differently; you have just got a new job, would the first thing you did be to criticise your new boss in public, especially after you have previously criticised them openly in the media, criticism I might add that was extremely scathing.

Fact - Kean has gone, that is what Mullen's mob and the rest of the moaners on here wanted, but they keep on moaning. lol.

Fact - we need a new manager that isn't tainted by what has gone on over the last two years, we have one who has been critical of the owners and regime at Ewood, you can't get less tainted than that.

As I said earlier I don't trust Venky's but at the end of the day they actually own Blackburn Rovers Football Club and they do appear to be attempting put things right.

I can't argue with you about the gulf they have created, because you are right, but there is an old saying; "It takes two to Tango" and we, the fans have a part to play in closing that gulf, because some of us helped turn it into a chasm.

And constantly sniping at a new manager, deciding he will be an instant failure because he isn't who they wanted, is nothing short of pathetic.

**** in fact.

We have to give the guy a chance to prove himself, he has played and won things at the highest level, he has played for one of the best managers in the world.

Surely he deserves that?

Good luck Henning, you have my backing. Henning Berg was slagging off the owners...and? he had never spoke to them or met them but had an opinion about Blackburn Rovers, to be honest what does his comments say about how he feels about Blackburn, he obviously cares, yes?
Another point, if you go for a job and you get to interview stage knowing the other candidates may be well known within that company but you have a good interview and come accross really well would you want to be given a chance if they decided to give it to you, I would, so what is the diffference here? some of the names mention, Mick McCarthy got Wolves relegated, Hollaway got Blackpool relagated as well as getting promoted, even Shearer couldnt stop Newcastle being relegated why would you want to to put these people above Berg.
All I know is the fans needs to get behind Berg the team, I will get behind them and we should all be pushing for promotion in the same direction!!

Look at all these rovers fans getting excited.... guess what?

1. You are going to remain in the Championship,

2. You are going to lose the remaining Premiership quality players in the summer transfer window,

3. You may get into the playoffs in a season or two time, and finally

4. When you do return, it won’t be as a former premiership quality team (like Newcastle United, who really were in a class of their own), but as a Championship team with Championship players.

Oh yeah one thing that won’t change is; the lack of fans turning upto Rovers matches.

If childish morons want to shout others down who offer a decent opinion, they are the ones spoiling the site, not people who speak from the heart.

It's a shame the loud agressive posters don't use that agression against the owners and cause of the destruction, but maybe that would involve thought, which might be a step too far for some.

There are a large number of unknown names on this board all of a sudden and we all understand how little Venkys and their puppets rate our intelligence.

There are a large number of unknown names on this board all of a sudden and we all understand how little Venkys and their puppets rate our intelligence.

It certainly doesn't shout "ambition" does it? It whispers "cheap".

And Amen to that, we know what he was like as a player, skilful, dependable, genuine, always gave everything he had.

I for one can't see him being any different as a manager.

And lets face it guys, if we can get everyone pulling in the same direction for once there is absolutely nothing to fear in this division from what I have seen so far.

Its a general consensus that we have been playing poorly and yet we are in the top 6 and just off the pace, just imagine what could happen if Berg can get us organised and playing to our strengths for once.

I'll go with Berg, much more sensible than Shearer, for example.

Still not sure who owns the club though. Can't imagine Venkys sanctioning the Murphy, Gomes, Utuhu and the Portugeezers' deals, that stinks of agents pulling the strings to me.

We have to go with what we have though, or not go, as the case may be, and only time will tell who was right and who was wrong.

I'm tired of the boycott boycott boycott tirades and Hendry's financial misdemeanours and fan fighting fan. It's become very boring.

We have a manager who's had a successfull career .
Lets be honest no body knows if he's going to be a good manager for us, but shouldn't we give him the chance. Surely all we want is for the team to get promoted and be managed properly. If Berg manages this then it's a job done. Personally I couldn't care less if Ronald McDonald was manager as long as it had the desired affect on the team.

I always knew these dingles had a sad existence but some of their comments show how poor their lot is. Obviously it is worrying when your last few managers walk out for bigger clubs (Coyle and Howe) and you know your only half decent player,Austin, will do the same in January but do you really need to come on here? Obviously the appointment of your own new manager has created no passion or excitement in your own town or you would be on your own pages raving about what he is going to do. Unfortunately on here we have a small number of those who call themselves Rovers fans whose total aim in life is to moan and whinge. Henning Berg today made a massive climb-down following his scathing summer comments about Venky’s.

“They’ve made many changes and the club is going in the right direction,” he said. “They’ve taken some very important steps to move this club forward by putting money in for players…and also made changes in management. It's good action.”

Oh dear. I would much rather have heard him say “They have assured me I will have full control over transfers and team affairs.”

This does not sit well in my thoughts. I pray I am wrong.

thats because Ronnie Clayton the poster is friends with or may even be the pensioners concerned, hence choosing the name of a Rovers legend to cover his obvious agenda.
Colin has been declared bankrupt, he has an order against him, he is complying with that order, but for some thats not enough.

All we need is someone to sponsor us not having a shirt sponsor, that'd be win-win.

The only way Berg can put some credibility into hos appointment is to get shut of Black and Hendry and bring in his own backroom staff otherwise this appointment will be seen as just another yes man for Shabby Shabby and the Venkeys!!! OUT WITH SHAW AGNEW SINGH BLACK HENDRY
The defence was a joke Black sorted it.He didn't do a bad job and he told it lke it is
I keep reading how Black and Hendry have done a great job sorting out the defence.

Regular readers will know that what they did was exactly what many on here had been calling for for weeks, they dropped Danny Murphy, and put Etuhu and Lowe in front of the back four.

Murphy was off the pace, he had no running and no tackling in him, which meant our defence was too often being overloaded by opposition midfielders just running at them.

We now have a more robust 'back six' but a bigger midfield gap to fill behind Rhodes, hence theres a lack of attacking support which is restricting his opportunities.

As the man said, its not rocket science, Keans loyalty to Murphy was the problem here. Thankfully Berg comes in with no baggage, its a clean slate for everyone.

This is a DISAPPOINTING appointment and an UNCONVINCING first 24 hours. Henning Berg has little managerial experience and what little experience he has had has led to poor results. No one, who could do a Henning Berg style U- turn about the appalling Venkys, has the strength of character to be a successful manager. (Berg is following the Shabby model here.)
in many of the posts favouring Berg's appointment I see a great anxiety to be relieved of the distress of the last two years since those Indian vaginas took over, but sadly, I think Berg's appointment portends more troubles to come.

Incidentally, no one would argue that Berg is a "big name". In fact Berg is not even a medium sized name. He is a miniscule name in the management arena. So what was all that nonsense from Shabby and the Venkys about all the "big name" applications? These despicable people just cannot resist lying at every turn, can they.

Congratulations on Henning Berg.
We all need to get behind him and the team.
He was a good solid professional
and I hope he brings in some decent new players from his area of the world. ( Scandinavia )
BRFC can really win promotion this year providing we all get together and support the team, so come on lets get promoted together.
Ok, we need some players....
what players would you recommend to HB..?
What players are not good enough..?

I believe we need a good left back, a right back and a fast winger
plus a midfield general who should be fast and youngish
we don't need any players over 30 years of age for sure.

I would drop Danny Murphy, and put Etuhu and Lowe in front of the back four. However, we will need to buy a strong midfield general as i see Lowe as a stop gap for the time being.

Murphy, like Dunn has no pace, no running and no tackling in him, which means our defense is often being overloaded by opposition midfielders just running at them.

With Etuhu / Lowe, we have a more robust 'back six' which means less goals conceded but this creates a bigger problem as there's no one to feed the strikers. Therefore fewer goals scored. Hence, bigger midfield gap to fill behind Rhodes, hence there's a lack of attacking support which is restricting striking opportunities.

So come you Rovers fans, lets get behind the team and show were all together on the road to promotion soon.

Shaw was the same when Sky caught him going in to Ewood; HB gave the best interview of any manager he's ever interviewed, apparently. Bearing in mind who he's interviewed in the past, that can hardly be described as a glowing endorsement.

The disappointment was etched all over his face.

And just a word of advice heejut (2), if you are going to pretend to be chairman of a professional football club, tidy yourself up FFS. You looked like the f@cking caretaker locking up for the night. Sadly, you sounded like one too.

Unless you're just worrying now your main ally has gone.

Hopefully Venkys have seen the light and get rid of hangers on like Shaw and Agnew, although I'm not confident they have. Let's hope as well HB sees through Hendry and gets rid, be it for football reasons or not. He shouldn't be at the club, full stop.

Congratulations to Henning Berg. He was a true professional and lets hope he can again show his credentials and take us up where we belong.
Lets hope he can bring in a few players from his side of the world. a few players that can make the difference and take us back up.

Regards BRFC & Venkeys, its about time true fans realized that the club has been in a state of transition and hopefully we have turned that corner.
Its pointless blaming everyone within the club.
Its now time to stick together and support the club, we need the fans, owners, management and players all together.

We know that we cant compete with the major clubs in England but we can get up there back in premiership and stay there where we belong.

By comparison with major clubs in England, BRFC are a small town club who have been elevated to the premier league due to Jack Walker and his money. Without him BRFC would be languishing in the lower leagues.
For the last 2 decades Blackburn have secured their status as a premier league club. They are an established club with ''Premier'' written all over. They deserve to be up there. Their record speaks for itself over the last 20 years....check the stats.....!!

Unfortunately, a few teams have to go down every year and this time round it was BRFC. But we will be back hopefully at the first attempt.
Fortunately, BRFC should be head and shoulders better than the others in the championship and should come up sooner rather than later. With the playing staff at their disposal it should be a formality.

We just need a few more solid players, like a left back, a right back, a fast winger and a central midfield general to boss the center and provide link up with the strikers....what do you think...????
what players do we need.?
what players are not good enough..?
what players have you noticed who we should be buying.?
what players can we buy in January..?

Also..........
The problems did not start with Venkeys taking over, rather the issues were that the Walker family after ''Our Jack'' did not want to back BRFC in the manner that 'Our Jack Walker' did.
The demise began from when the family of Jack walker were not prepared to back BRFC in the manner that OUR Jack Walker would have expected.
The family had been secretly trying to sell BRFC secretly just after the death of Jack Walker....That's a disgrace.
The problems of BRFC started from that point on wards.
BRFC waited for many months / years to find some buyers but to no avail.
It seemed no one wanted to buy the club. Eventually Venkeys bought the club.
Actually BRFC were fortunate that Venkeys did buy as there did not seem to be any other interest at all.
BRFC had no choice as the family of Jack Walker wanted to get rid of the (BRFC) family jewels.

Hence, the real anger should be directed at the Walker family who let down 'Jack' and let down the fans and the club.
They did not care less about who they sold the club to as long as they got their money.
In fact, many offers did come from Americans and other Europeans but they were so low that the Walker family would have made massive losses.
The only reason they sold to the Indians was that the Venkeys were New to this game, didn't know anything and extremely naive.
The walker family rubbed their hands in glee when Venkeys made such a silly offer as to satisfy their financial demands.

Where was the anger then.....when the Walker family were selling out getting rid of this club, your and our club and 'Jacks'
They let us down and have now run away.....!!!

We need to get used to the idea that foreigners own our football clubs,
If the people of Blackburn were so interested why did we not come up with a plan for the club together with the Jack Walker foundation and family.
Unfortunately, the Walker family were not interested in selling to the people as they would have not got much money from the people of Blackburn. They would have been lucky to get a penny.

And the Walker family sold as they knew it was time to stop bank rolling BRFC and get as much as they possibly could , which they did and have now disappeared. away from BRFC.

We now have owners who are investing and hopefully will continue to do so, we all need to get together and act as one voice and for sure we will achieve what we all want.

so that's what we should all remember at BRFC.

Finally, Real football fans are those who stick through Good and bad times.
I ask ...you BRFC supporters...Are you a real BRFC fan...???
You can’t always be winners
And compared to some premier teams we are really small but good enough to get into and stay in premiership

Let’s be positive and get on with our job as supporters

Let’s get behind the team and playing staff and BRFC

And this should lead us to GLORY and the premiership.....
SIMPLE

To paraphrase. You can please all of the people some of the time some of the people all of the time and Rovers fans none of the time. At least let's give Henning a chance to settle in. He has called the Venky's in the past, he may well be calling them in the future when he realises that he was right in saying they hadn't a clue on football matters. But at least he was prepared to take the job and help get the Rovers back into the PL. he will need lots f help from every fan of the club, so let us show him we CAN get behind him!
Couldn't agree more. Give the guy a chance. Lets get behind him and the club again.

We're stuck with Venkys for while yet and will have to endure Shabby too. Hopefully Berg will get rid of Hendry and bring some good honest values back as he's not connected with Anderson et al either.

He's got Rovers history too so he understands the club and its fans. Great to have somebody who does for once!

Now then Jack, take a look in the mirror, 1) when austin goes you will be lucky to stay in the championship, 2) you only ever have 1 premiership quality player a year and you have to sell him to keep the sad little ship afloat 3) You can only dream of the playoffs and 4) the only time you made it into the prem. league even your manager baled out on you because Bolton were a bigger club !.
Back in your box Jack.
Aaaahhh you think I support Bumley...your wrong there mate. I just hate rovers fans who think their team is Invincible and untouchable...when in fact they are fragile and vulnerable.

You don't know anything about me mate... I support a club where fans don't hide their shirts behind their jackets, a club where the number one selling christmas present is still the home shirt and where fans pack the stadium to the top, even when we are playing in the mickey mouse cup.
Oh, sorry Jack, your not a dingle ?

My apologies, but kudos to you for the brilliant dngle impression. Coming on here just to fling a few cheap shots with no real facts at all, you certainly had me fooled.

Now I read your post again the clues were all there, spelling and counting to 4, bit advanced for a turf moor monkey.
I agree with your English Literature jab at the dingles on here....good one. Now then seeing as you have read my original comment again, who do you think I support?
Well Jack, how close would I be if I said we shared a sponsor back in the glory days of the 80's.

These days we could probably trade you some chicken for a cheap pair of Nikes.
Jack, from yesterday ?
Some of you Blackburn fans are really really slow, or you just don’t pay attention at all.

I've bl**dy mentioned my team in the original comment.

It's hardly surprising really. The last 30 odd years have been very grim for you dingles, so you grasp at what you can to comfort your minds Bonleh are important. Well your not. You seem to think posting tosh about speakers at Ewood to boost the crowd noise or quoting what Berg said in May, gains some mini victory for your scruffy club.

I'm glad to hear you're still on track in your progress but unlike you lot with Rovers, we tend not to give a sh1t what's going on down the dingle dome, only to laugh at your pure anger of our domination in a rivalry we relish but you exist for.

Justifying why you are the laughing stock of football by use of examples such as a crowd cheering played over speakers, male cheerleader, lack of sponsors, etc, is hardly attempting a mini victory.

'we tend not to give a sh1t what's going on down the dingle dome'...well that's not what is recorded in the archives on this website. Just that paragraph of utter comedy proves beyond doubt what you're all about. If posting sh1t like that isn't trying to gain some sort of mini victory to try and prove your worth as a football club, I don't know what is.

If I could be bothered, I'd remind you of the facts that really matter in judging the worth of a club whilst you parp on about male cheerleaders and loud speakers!

I hope Black will stay to support him. But he can save some cash by getting rid of the useless scottish lump called a defensive coach.
