Black hails Rovers' patience
6:11pm Saturday 27th October 2012 in Football
By Andy Cryer, Blackburn Rovers reporter
ERIC Black believes patience was a virtue this afternoon after Jordan Rhodes's injury time winner cemented Blackburn Rovers' position in the Championship top six.
Rovers struggled to break down a defensive Watford at times but, after Colin Kazim-Richards had missed a penalty, Rhodes came to their rescue to make it two wins in a row for the hosts.
Caretaker boss Black insisted he was still in the dark about the future, with Rovers expected to make a managerial appointment in the next few days, but was full of praise for his players.
He said: "We knew it would be a difficult game. Watford set up with 10 behind the ball and played on the counter.
"We had to be patient and I thought we were. As a coach I thought the players were fantastic.
"I thought Jordan Rhodes was going to take the penalty, but Kaz did. Thankfully Jordan has done what he does best at the end.
"I don't know what is going to happen. I was told to take it up to today and I have read what you all have."

Great result today man of the match Ruben Rochina by a mile. Spread play brilliantly in the first half and was always looking for that killer Forward pass. Yes he misplaced some passes but I bet if you were to ask the Watford players who gave them the hardest time they would say Rochina
Etuhu faded second half.
Unfortunately will not get the best out of Rhodes unt we have some true pace on the flanks
Sorry but Morten and Givet have very little pace now to take on full backs, get to the bye line or in Givets case overlap. Olsson threatened more when he came on.
On the right Orr and Kazim Richards posed no threat either. Richards had so many great opportunities of taking their full back on 1 on 1 and never did it thus getting no crosses in for Rhodes from the byeline
If we don't have threats down both flanks then everything has to go down the middle. Oh for a Stuart Ripley and or Jason Wilcox players who just loved to take full backs on and skin them leaving them in their wake.

Black made correct decisions.
One downside. Surely they should decide whi takes penalties before the game.

He just wants to take them so he can celebrate in front of the crowd saying "look at me" and then strut round town all night telling the birds what a hero he is. I'm glad he missed.
Colin Kazim Richards strikes me as an unreliable two bob joker who would prefer a 3-some in some grotty flat with a couple orange trollopes than put in a proper stint on the pitch. He's one of life bottlers. I bet he welches on bets as well.
People on here are saying Rhodes worked his **** off so let him take them. Not that lazy welching bottling maggot.
