FULL TIME: Blackburn Rovers 1 Sheffield Wednesday 0
9:45pm Wednesday 24th October 2012 in Football
GRANT Hanley’s fifth-minute goal was enough to give Blackburn Rovers their first win under caretaker boss Eric Black tonight.
The defender tapped home in the fifth minute after collecting a pull-back from David Dunn, who later had to be replaced by substitute Ruben Rochina because of injury.
It was Rovers’ first victory in six games and their first in five under Black’s stewardship.

Flitcroft attends games regularly, he or management have said nothing about it. Remember Sky also reported Rhodes deal was dead, Kean was to be sacked and don't forget Sherwood as a sure bet (evrn though rovers had yet to speak to him).

For 20 minutes David Dunn rolled back the years and bossed the game, it all looked so positive when he set up the goal, then he went off injured and took any creativity with him. Rochina came on and showed what he can do in flashes, and Rhodes worked hard to make the most of few real opportunities. Sadly the lack of fitness showed again and for much of the second half we were on the back foot defending our last third against a technically poor but physically stronger team . Defence looked more solid, with Hanley a deserved MOTM, but theres still a lot of improvement needed all over the pitch. I cant ever remember seeing a rovers team so quiet, and its very obvious there are no strong characters to be the natural leaders in midfield or up front.
Any prospective managers watching tonight will have seen enough material to start to make something decent out of, but they certainly don't look like a side who can get promoted yet.

He is as dodgy as the rest of them at Ewood these days.
He has zero experience of football at the top level since he stopped playing and has a very dodgy past. Even today he is trying to claim his phone was tapped at the time that he had an extra marital relationship. He was one of the cheats that bought an injunction to save his sorry skin form press exposure.
Now he claims that his phone was tapped but says that he has no evidence of this. Flitcroft / Kean all out of the same tree.

"Singh is determined to hire a young British coach and rejected the opportunity to interview German great and former Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster. There is surprisingly high interest in taking charge of one of England’s most dysfunctional clubs.
Ian Holloway is another rumoured to be keen, having grown weary of being made to sell his best players at Blackpool. Derek Shaw, Blackburn’s managing director, is said to favour Holloway.
Yet Singh desires someone without relegation on his CV. Both he and Shaw are understood to disagree on a lot and the process has stalled. Another man mooted as a candidate, Garry Flitcroft, the former Rovers captain and current manager of Chorley in the Evo Stik Premier League, is a regular Blackburn spectator, but he was in the executive box last night to witness an unusually pulsating start by the hosts, led by Flitcroft’s former team-mate David Dunn. "
Just go and get HOLLOWAY now Singh you big prat! I despair.

"Take away the first 10 minutes of the game and I think we've absolutely slaughtered them. But it's that final third, that final delivery, that final little pass that's letting us down.
"We've come here to a team that's just come out of the Premier League and, unless I'm watching a completely different game I thought we absolutely pulverised them for 80-odd minutes."
Don't worry dave, when we play jimmy savilles blue and white army in december, we will pulverise them as we have the leagues top score in the magnificant Charlie Austin.

Please lease calm down, too many people on here think they are playing football manager, this place has turned so negative, nothing but people moaning the whole time.
YES Venky's have made a shamebells of our once loved club
YES the once again indecisiveness makes us look like fools and only adds to the frustration
YES that Singh chap seems to be yet another puppet in this circus ing who is clearly a very bad "yes man" who is obviously doing a bad job of brown nosing the fans and Venky's
No don't take all this out on Gary Flitcroft
I had been holding out (in more hope than anything) that all this indecisiveness was really just us waiting until the Norweigan season is finished with Ole having signed up already or failing that Holloway was taking over but I for one will back Gary if he does ake over, he deserves our support and is a true footballing man.
I'd love to see Matty Jansen standing on the sideline next to him, that sight alone would bring back great memories that seem like an atternity ago since this dark cloud came to rest over Ewood in late 2010.
So come on lads less of the moaning and get fully behind Gary and Matty (assume he wouldn't pass up on coming back here) and channel all this energy positively towards the lads and the team.
All assumes SSN are right - which could be very wrong indeed!

It is quite obvious that the saying 'You cannot please all of the people all of the time' is so very true.
It is getting almost as alarming for the support i.e. BRAG trying to 'elect' the man, as it is the 'management'.
None of us (either side of the divide) can be at all sure upon the sureity of the eventual man coming u trumps, be him a novice or a experienced campaigner. You just never ever know.
The die is cast, the Walker era is over, Venkys are the new owners, Kean is now history, lets move on and get in place manager.
He may prove to be good, bad or indifferent. But he will need a psitive support base, not naysayers at almost every turn.
I fully understand the apprehension (I have bucket loads myself), but at some point a 'coming together' has to take place for the club to move forward.
To have Flitty and Matty on the touchline, for me, would be a breath of fresh air. Not that this is my ideal / prefered posting.
Yes they may fail, but there are no guarantees in life. What I do know though is that they would give it their very best shot, and thats all you can ask.
I would just hope that this would not tarnish their standing within our affections.

One promotion followed by immediate relegation and he recently took his team to our beloved neighbours and lost. Get real - just because he gives wacky interviews doesn't mean he is any cop - the modern football fan is so easily influenced by media coverage and, as we know with how we have been depicted as a group of fans, it is at best superficial and at worst downright misleading.
The hysterical reaction to Gary Flitcroft's name being mentioned just sums up how superficial the analysis of the merits of potential candidates are - after all, at least Flitcroft is not associated with Anderson and Kean (unlike Billy Mc) and at least he has been learning his trade from the bottom up - he is mega popular at Chorley and should not be dismissed simply because he has been managing at a low non-league level. He has more idea and managerial experience than all the other ex-rovers associated with the job.
The Rovers need a manager free from any connections with Anderson et al and we might just be able to rebuild the club - I went back for the first time last night and the team is a long, long way from pushing for promotion and that underlines just how low the team has been taken by the Kean/ venkys era. We will go down again if the supporters don't stand side by side with the new manager. For that to happen the new boss will have to get shut of the current players who are tainted by association with Kean/ Anderson.
Agents out, Agency players out, media pundits out, but we are stuck with Venkys - unless anyone has a spare £100 million to throw away.

I went down to Ewood this morning for my ticket for Saturday. Even though the last two home games have been horrendous football.
So! See you missing thousands again on Saturday.
At least I hope I played a small part in getting rid of Kean.
Now let's get a new manager soon and move forward.

No point in arguing with you. myself my friends and the finance department at BRFC know just how many seasons I have been attending Ewood Park. That is all you need to know. When the reserves used to play alternate Saturday's at Ewood back in the days, I even went to all their matches as well. I don't need to justify my attendances with you. My bum still has the splinters from the wooden benches that we sat on on the running track.
