Place is ton-derful - but Lancashire are beaten

BLACKBURN darts star Dave Place threw 13 tons on his way to a 4-2 win over Essex ace Paul Barham – but he was unable to prevent the Red Rose Men’s A team from losing 7-5 in in the County Championship.

Place was on form but Lancashire were edged out.

There was also defeat for the Men’s B team, who lost 9-3 and the Ladies B team.

They went down 4-2 – but there was victory for Lancashire Ladies A.

They won their match 4-2.
