Willets win is grand event

Graham Willets is the latest winner in the Sharon Murraryu Grand Prix darts competition.

The weekly event is being staged at the Cabin End pub in Knuzden every Thursday with money raised supporting the MacMillan Nurses.

The competition has been organised by Keith Murray in memory of wife.

Willets beat John Phillips 5-1 in the final after beating Steve Lemoine in the semi finals.

Results: John Phillips 3 Ashley Poulton 1, Brian Goldthorpe 3 Paul Gaskill 2, Steve Lemoine 3 Keith Lynch 2, Graham Willets 3 Kyle Pickering 2, Semi finals John Phillips 4 Brian Goldthorpe 0, Graham Willets 4 Steve Lemoine 2.

Final: Graham Willets 5 John Phillips 1.

This week's event has been postponed due to players taking part in the Isle of Man Darts Festival.
