TEAM Raleigh’s Brad Morgan was in action over the weekend in the Wilton GP.

The race was part of the Elite Road Series which began with the Chorley Grand Prix last month and the weekend round in Wiltshire was won by Team Wiggins’ Andrew Tennant.

Morgan himself saw his race end slightly early after the peloton was pulled out because of the gap between them and the leading riders.

The Chorley star’s team-mate Steve Lampier did manage to keep his place in the leading group, which enabled him to claim the spring Cup title for the overall series. Lampier finished in 16th place as only 27 riders crossed the line.

Raleigh did lose their overall team lead to One Pro Cycling who saw Yanto Barker finish second in Wiltshire.

The Elite Road Series features eight rounds of action with the Wilton Grand Prix the final round of the first phase of the competition, the Spring Cup, before a two-month break ahead of the second Grand Prix phase which begins in Staffordshire in July and includes the Colne Grand Prix.
