IAN Wilkinson helped his Team Raleigh team-mate Steve Lampier into the leaders jersey in the season-long Elite Road series after he finished second in the men’s Tour of the Reservoir over the weekend.
Erick Rowsell, the winner of the opening stage of the two-day race, took the overall victory while One Pro Cycling’s Marcin Bialoblocki took the honours on stage two.

But it was the consistent Lampier who finds himself in the series lead after a strong performance by his Raleigh team, which also included Chorley’s Bradley Morgan.
Wilkinson, from Barnoldswick, finished 18th overall while Morgan placed 45th.
Padiham’s Simon Wilson was also in the field as he came home in 48th place overall after a tough two days blighted by cold weather and snow.
Colne’s Steven Burke was also in the field but he failed to finish the first day of the race.
Rowsell attacked out of a break to win stage one while Bialoblocki did likewise to take the honours on Sunday in Northumberland after the weather conditions shortened the day two route.
The East Lancashire riders are all expected to be back in action at the Melton International CiCle Classic race on April 26 although that event is not part of the Elite Road Series which resumes on May 10 with the Wilton GP.
