NO further action will be taken against Ribblesdale League side Blackburn Northern following their refusal to continue their game at champions Baxenden last month.
Northern walked off the Back Lane pitch during the game on August 15 with cricket manager Rudra Singh claiming the wet conditions were unfit for further play.
Baxenden had reached 24-0 in two overs while chasing reduced target of 134 in 25 overs when Northern’s players left the field, amid outrage and disbelief from Baxenden.
The Ribblesdale League committee met and decided that no action would be taken.
League chairman Brian Woodhead explained: “We listened to both captains and both umpires and the management committee studied various reports and decided that no further action was necessary.
“And we will look to putting something into the rules for 2010 to cover such situations.”
