STUART Maher continued his love affair with The Brox as he once again claimed the bowling bragging rights on a trip to Brooksbottom.

The Great Harwood seamer took a liking to Brooksbottom’s home as the Summerseat club joined the league last season and claimed 10-43 at the ground on the final game of last season.

And in Ramsbottom Cup semi-final defeat last June, Maher was right on the money again with his 10 overs only going for four runs.

He was back there on Saturday and bowled Harwood towards a win with figures of 5-48.

Brooksbottom did manage to post a decent total of 167 all out though with Zohaib Quereshi top scoring with an impressive 54.

Harwood’s Jack Wildermuth is a man in form with the bat and he made an unbeaten 85 to lead them to a two-wicket win.

Defending champions Clitheroe once again impressed as they swatted away the Brinscall.

Pro Janaka Gunaratne hit 70 and Naeem Ashraf made 66 not out as Clitheroe made 280-6 from their 45 overs – and then Jack Dewhurst worked his magic with the ball to claim 5-7 as Brinscall were dashed out for 102. Earby’s magnificent run continued as they beat Baxenden at The Applegarth.

Skipper Richard Craddock claimed 3-22 from 12 overs and Chris Walton and Ian White both bagged a brace as Bash were bowled out for 103. Earby got over the line with the loss of seven wickets with Craddock making an unbeaten 21 to round off a good day.

Barnoldwick also had plenty to celebrate as they upset Read with an eight-wicket win.

Read were bowled out for 128 before Barlick pro Louis Delport made hit 53 to ease them home.

Cherry Tree claimed a 54-run win over Edenfield at Gincroft Lane, while Wilkin Mota’s 7-34 helped Whalley to the most comprehensive of wins at Settle.

Brannon Varley made an unbeaten 57 as Ribblesdale Wanderers beat Oswaldtwistle Immanuel by 10 wickets.

Padiham were undone by Euxton’s Aussie Preston White who made an excellent half-century in his side’s 225-8 total.

White then did the damage with the ball claiming 6-49 as Padiham were shuffled out for exactly 100 in 29.3 overs.
