    What's wrong with you all?
Can anyone see Baxenden losing it from this position?
What excuses are Read and Barnoldswicks paid 11 going to use?

Who have you picked in your team of the season?

Ribblesdale League Saturday round-up

GOOD KNOCK Mark Rishton GOOD KNOCK Mark Rishton

Baxenden opened up a 16-point lead at the top of the Ribblesdale League as they brushed aside Cherry Tree on Saturday while nearest rivals Read were rocked at home by third-placed Barnoldswick.

Babar Naeem top scored with 49 and Mark Rishton made 45 as Bash posted 168-8 in their 41 overs. Naeem then weaved his magic with the ball to claim 7-43 as Cherry Tree were 113 all out.

On a day of drama at Whalley Road, Read were rocked ay Barnoldswick despite Andrew Laycock’s 76 helping them to a respectable 198-7 from their 45 overs.

Barlick were up against it when run machine Matt Nutter and skipper Richard Nichols fell cheaply. But as they chased a reduced target of 172, Barlick roared to life with Umar Saddique making a quite brilliant 83 not out to steer them home.

Whalley maintained their vice-like grip on fourth as they beat Settle with ease at Station Road with Martyn Davies hitting 63 and Clitheroe beat Oswaldtwistle Immanuel by eight wickets at Chatburn Road.

Ribblesdale Wanderers beat Great Harwood at The Cliffe and Earby beat Edenfield at The Applegarth.

It was a good day for Padiham but at bad one for Salesbury as John Bushell’s men won at Ribchester Road.
