Appeal goes out for library volunteers

1:55pm Wednesday 13th March 2013

MORE volunteers are needed to help run Kirkbymoorside library.

Two recruitment days were held in January, when 22 people signed up to help out.

However, from April volunteers will be needed on Monday mornings and Thursday afternoons and evenings.

Coun Chris Dowie, Kirkbymoorside mayor, said: “The more volunteers there are the better as it will mean each person is needed approximately once a month, for about two-and-a-half hours.

“There will always be two volunteers in the library at any one time and back up help will be available from the library service.”

Training sessions will be held throughout March on Tuesday and Thursdays, 10am-noon, and Tuesdays, 2pm-4pm.

Anyone who would like to become a volunteer at Kirkbymoorside library should give their name and contact details to a member of staff at the library or at the town council office
