Chorley get quick shot at revenge
10:32am Friday 8th June 2012 in Chorley CC
CHORLEY get a quick shot at revenge against Darwen tonight as the local rivals meet at Birch Hall in the Northern League’s Twenty20 competition.
Andy Holdsworth’s men were soundly beaten by John Cordingley’s Towers in the league on Monday but go into their second game in this year’s competition in confident mood after they beat Leyland in their opener last Friday.
For Darwen it is their seasonal debut in the competition and a decent crowd is expected for the clash (6.15pm).
Darwen are also at home tomorrow when they welcome Carnforth to Birch Hall keen to build on Monday’s win over Chorley.
The Towers are boosted by the availability of Alex Davies, who is playing solely as a batsman, while the game also marks a return to East Lancashire for former Accrington and Rawtenstall spinner Toby Bulcock, who is Carnforth professional.
Chorley are in need of a win to boost their spirits – but they face a testing trip into the Lake District for their game with Kendal at Shap Road.
