TEEN talent Alex Davies is back in action for Darwen tomorrow after a busy week as the Towers tackle the pace of Anwar Ali.

Davies, who turned 17 on Tuesday, was handed a shock Lancashire debut as the Red Rose faced Glamorgan and has spent the week turning out for a combined 2XI/Academy side in a match with the England Developing Players.

But he will be back on familiar soil as he plays for Darwen against Morecambe as John Cordingley’s men aim to clamber into the top five.

The Birch Hall clash, which starts at 12.30pm, sees a return to East Lancashire of popular former Colne paid man Ali, who has claimed 72 wickets to help Morecambe into the top five and his tussle with Davies, who has scored 917 runs in league and cup for Darwen this season, could prove pivotal.

Chorley will also be keeping and eye on the events at Birch Hall as they look to keep hold of third spot. Andy Holdsworth’s men travel to lowly Fleetwood as the side most likely to upset the hopes of leaders St Annes or second-placed Leyland.

Saturday fixtures
