De Wet makes a splash for Chorley

A BLISTERING spell of fast bowling from professional Friedel de Wet paved the way for another victory as Chorley's season continued its upward momentum.

The South African bowled with real pace and hostility, ripping through the top order, as Fleetwood slumped to 47 for five.

A stand of 63 between captain Wayne Clarke and Adam Parker provided the only real substance to the Fleetwood innings, but when De Wet bowled Parker for 47, the home side soon subsided as the Chorley bowlers gave excellent support to the professional.

De Wet's figures of 17.1-4-48-6 reflected a magnificent display of top class fast bowling.

Ian Oakes and Josh Tolley gave Chorley's reply a sound base with an opening stand of 49 and all the Chorley batsmen made a cont-ribution.

The star of the show though, was Tolley, who produced a magnificent display of high quality batting to ensure there were no real alarms along the way.

When the target was reached, Tolley was still there unbeaten on 84 as Chorley harvested another 12 points.
