DARWEN crashed out of the Cockspur Cup by seven wickets to Roe Green at Birch Hall yesterday.
Batting first, Darwen collapsed to 88-6 at one stage.
But Stuart Hampson, batting down at seven, led the recovery, hitting a dogged 70 for his best knock of the season so far.
He was given valuable support down the order from Mark Emery (20) and Niall Burke as Darwen managed to reach 201 all out.
But their total proved not enough, as their Greater Manchester visitors reached 203-3.
Darwen have a double-bill of Northern League fixtures next weekend, hosting Kendal on Saturday before heading to Chorley on Bank Holiday Monday.
