LONGRIDGE have a busy weekend of Moore and Smalley Palace Shield action as they aim for the double boost of pulling clear of the Premier Division drop zone and making Meyler Cup progress.

Longridge are in ninth place in the table and host Fylde, who are in 10th, tomorrow.

And they then play their delayed Meyler Cup tie with Great Eccleston on Sunday.

And they know that if they can win through that match they have a home local derby with Garstang in the quarter-finals, while Longridge seconds have been handed a trip to Penwortham seconds in the Loxham Cup.

Hoghton are having a decent season in Division One and currently sit in fourth place with one eye on making a push for promotion.

And they can take giant strides towards that aim when they face New Longton at Smithy Brow.
