A fast-expanding Pendle company has announced its support for Nelson Cricket Club this year and next.

Businesswise Solutions Ltd, which specialises in cost reduction and purchase management, has agreed to be a principal sponsor for both the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

The company, based on the Lomeshaye Industrial Estate, will fund 26 new player kits and training kits for the first and second team squads.

Dean Cockett, Businesswise director, said: “We are proud to support a club which is steeped in local history; being one of the founding members of the Lancashire Cricket League some 150 years ago.

“Both myself and fellow Businesswise director Frazer Durris are big sports fans and understand the vital role which sport plays in the local communities where we live and work.

“Nelson boasts a successful club, which is highly regarded within the league and is well supported by its members and we are looking forward to getting to know both the players and supporters at forthcoming matches and other organised events.”

Acting Nelson chairman David Heap said: “This is a very exciting time for Nelson Cricket Club and we are delighted to have Businesswise Solutions on board.

“The 2012 season is the start of a new era for the club with the election of a new captain, Neil Thompson.

"Neil is hugely committed to the club; having been a playing member since his junior years.

“I would like to thank Businesswise Solutions for their generous sponsorship on behalf of the club’s players, members and supporters and look forward to seeing them here on match days.”
