Lancashire League outfit Bacup have signed South African Michael Smith as their professional.
Smith, who is captain of Eastern Province, replaces Australian Ryan Broad at Lanehead.
The 29 year-old has made more than 2,200 First Class runs, including a highest score of 179, since making his debut in 2003.
Smith is also known as a right-arm spin bowler - but he can bowl medium pace.
In the past he has been professional with Penecuik in the Scottish League and was at Lullington Park in the Derbyshire League this year.
