LOWERHOUSE picked themselves up from their first Foster’s Lancashire League loss of the season yesterday as they forgot the pain of Saturday with a big win at Rishton.
The defending champions recovered from their loss against Accrington with a resounding success over Jimmy Bibby’s weakened side in the game at Blackburn Road.
Jonny Whitehead made 44 as the House posted 177-8 and then Rishton, with a host of changes from Saturday, slipped from 54-0 to 118 all out as the leaders stayed ahead of Enfield.
Adam Bracewell’s men are in form and they beat Ramsbottom by 43 runs.
Enfield posted 163-8 with Nasser Hussain making 58 and Jonathan Fielding claiming four wickets but Ramsbottom were in the hunt until Pieter Malan was out for 66 with the score on 113 and they finished 120 all out as Hasan Fazal claimed six wickets.
Graham Knowles scored a marvellous century as Haslingden rocked Accrington at Bentgate.
The opener got back to form with a majestic 116 and Lewis McIntosh hit 71 as Haslingden piled on the runs to reach 246-6.
Harry Boam then claimed four wickets and Gary Sudworth three as Accrington slipped to 114 all out in 35 overs.
Mark Bolton reeled in his career best bowling figures as East Lancashire crushed Colne at Alexandra Meadows.
The former skipper claimed 6-29 as Colne were rolled out for just 88 before the home side dashed over the line to make it a 24-point weekend.
Nelson were also celebrating a double as they beat Bacup at Seedhill. David Crotty hit 51 as his side posted 164-9 despite five wickets for sub-pro Shaun De Kock.
Neil Thompson then claimed four wickets and Nelson sub-pro Cobus Pienaar picked up three as Bacup were 88 all out.
Burnley claimed an excellent win over Church at West End with Bharat Tripathi claiming four wickets and hitting an unbeaten 48 to ease his side home and Todmorden were winners over bottom club Rawtenstall at Centre Vale.
Andrew Sutcliffe followed up a fine 77 with three wickets in the win.
