ADAM Bracewell smashed a brilliant 151 not out as Enfield made light of the shocking weather on the opening day of the Foster's Lancashire League season.
With five games called off without a ball being bowled, the only action came at Accrington and Colne, where Enfield's Bracewell was simply stunning.
His explosive knock, and 64 from pro Werner Coetsee, helped Enfield to 301-5 from 41 overs.
And that was far too many for Colne, even given an interruption for hailstones on the Horsfield. They closed on 82-4 and their 108-run rain adjusted target loss
David Ormerod claimed a five-wicket haul as Accrington beat the elements and East Lancashire to start their campaign on a high.
A huge mopping up operation at Thorneyholme Road saw the game start shortly before 4pm with 26 overs per side.
Accrington posted 119-9 from their overs and in reply East Lancs closed on 80-9 with Ormerod starting the campaign well.
The games at Bacup, Ramsbottom, Haslingden, Nelson and Church were abandoned.
